digitalis - shooting with macro

here i will show how the distance from the lens to the subject even with the same setup gear and setting affects the result due to DOF.

here it does seem all the insect are infocus. but my distance from the insect is around 75mm.

here i come a bit closer maybe 60mm from the insect. now the DOF effects is seen. the eyes are blur.

now at minimum focus distance of 50mm. i did get more closer on the insects. but the DOF is more obvious. i already use F/20. to solve this. i will have to use around F25 to F29. but if i do. it could have darker exposure and less details. what i did before is just adjust the flash EV to maybe +2.0. that will give more flash. then later on i learn i can use a slower shutter like here all pic i used 1/125s. if i did use 1/200s. the exposure will be dark. i do this all bec. i am not using a true macro flash. if i have that flash. I beleive with default setting. no need to keep adjust. it will give good result.
Thats why i think these other gear are made to make shooting fast and easy. it does not mean without it we cannot get good result. we can. but it will take more time and effort :)

if you checked it tooked me 9 second to get the 3 shots. lately i used Single shot. but i also use burst mode. specially if i know i got a newly charge flash battery. sb800 has do burst flashing. it can shoot. 3 photo in a second with flash :)
