Gypsy News - HSBC: Blockchain is one of the least understood technologies

A study by the HSBC Bank reveals that blockchain technology is rarely understood, the bulk of it has not even heard of the term. A quantitative consideration.

How is the blockchain actually presented within the mainstream? The latest leaps forward from digital currencies are likely to have aroused the interest in the mainstream for cryptic stimuli – but did tat happen at the same time for the blockchain? HSBC, the London-based major bank, recently conducted a study to adapt new technologies. The bank was able to interview 12,000 participants from eleven different countries.

80% do not understand the blockchain

The study includes, among other things, the three least understood technologies: the first place is the blockchain. A total of 80% of respondents are included. It is true that the interviewees are not managers, but are mixed and, as a result, are presumably to a large extent to private clients who were investigated by HSBC. Nevertheless, the result of the rather heterogeneous target group shows that the mainstream blockchain is so far only very well received, or that other forms of thinking of decentralized systems are difficult to accept for many people.

Still a lot of enlightenment to do…
