Offering Delegations For Content.

in #blog7 years ago

I have been thinking about some way to offer delegations on a continuing bases for quality content pertaining to the things DiggnDeeper is trying to promote - open source, decentralized, abolitionist and Steem promotion type stuff.

The problem is that I haven't been able to put the pieces together in a meaningful way, yet.

So, I thought I would try to describe what I'm thinking and hope that I can encourage someone out there to help me with ideas to put it together in a way that makes sense. Maybe just writing it out will get me a lot closer.

General Idea

What if I gave out 250 SP delegations, once a week, for a term of 3 months to creators that produce and curate content within some sort of qualifications or guidelines?

This would be sustainable for me, as it would lock up 3k SP to set aside for this. 250 SP might be enough to encourage activity and once per week would also be sustainable to find the creators and keep things orderly.

Guidelines and Qualifications

  • Content must be unique.
  • Content must be of good quality and in English.
  • Content must pertain to things within DiggnDeeper areas of interest, such as Open Source, Decentralization, the errors of Prohibition and Steem Promotion.
  • Content must be published to Steem, using ANY dApp (exploring dApps encouraged), OR published outside of Steem in an effort to promote Steem.
  • Can be used to contribute to other relative contests.

Submissions

Currently, I'm thinking that submissions should be sent to through the Discord channel. I just set up a channel called #delegations-for-content. My thought is that we can use that to discuss and track submissions.

Are there other options?

Judging

This is the crux of the problem for me. How do I judge this?

If I have multiple submissions per week, how do I decide who gets the delegation?

I would ultimately love a way to crowd source the judging, so that it is not just my opinion, but I am completely open to any ideas here.

I don't know if you are a natural person or an institution, but If you do some reading on Steem posts, you could just pick those that you personally find to meet your standards when you read them, if you're an actual person. If you're a group, then you could simply delegate to members of your group that ability.

The selection process should be as simple as possible to cast the widest net, and reduce effort necessary to achieve your goal. I'm not going to submit stuff on Discord, and I expect others will also fail to undertake formal procedures. You'll miss folks like that if you make the process overly complex and time consuming.

Lately I haven't had time to post much, but I do comment extensively on issues you seem to be focused on. Limiting your choices to OPs will make such substantive comments ineligible despite that they may meet your needs. Simplest is best as long as the needs are met. Make it as easy on you and your market as you can, and you'll likely not regret it.

Great initiative. I hope you are successful in creating incentive for folks to write good stuff.

Thanks!

I think you have a good point. It is just me.

It might be more fun to search out content and creators and just delegate where I want to help them get more reach.

Maybe a combination.

Thanks for the comment.

@diggndeeper.com, Sounds good and very interesting. Look this way, if you liked multiple posts then you can use random generator tool then your burden will lessen. Keep up. 👍

That is an interesting thought. Thanks for that.

Thank you so much and welcome.

Great to see there are others who are willing to support the smaller accounts. :0)

When it comes to judging, I think you've already set the basics in your 'Guidelines and Qualifications'-part of the post.
In my experience, there's a lot of variety, and there's always one that stands out, that lives up to your own standards. Definitely when you check out their previous posts.

If there's more than one, you can always publish a post in which you present the posts/candidates and ask your followers for their opinion.
