I caught some photo's of this lonely jackal when travelled through Northern Cape about 2 years back. I am not sure if there were any other hiding somewhere as I only saw this one walking by himself. It was about mid day and the sun scorching hot.
I am not 100% sure what the type of Jackal this is called in English, but in Afrikaans it's called "Rooi Jakkals".
I really like Jackals, since they very closely related to dogs.
They might not be a very big or strong animal, but what they lack in brute force and strength, they make in street smarts.

I agree, but sometimes a little alone time can also do us good, but was with most things in life too much of something can also not be good.

True, but the problem is the farmer also has to protect their livestock.
