My recent crypto-exchange experience
I am relatively still new to SteemIt. I joined last November, but I still have much to learn. It is not easy to do business or move money in my home country (Venezuela), because there are tight and iron-handed restrictions on the USD that allow for not much outside the black market. 💸🔫
Yet, SteemIt has proven to be a powerful ally in our struggle for entry into the XXI Century... 🗿
More specifically, I've just witnessed something very nice: I had 12.4 SBD 2 or 3 days ago... 👁
I know it is not much, but the above sum is what I have today. And I have not published or curated any content in a while... I did this by trading into another crypto and then back (a couple of hours ago, when I saw the SBD dip below 4.5 USD). 💶💰💵
These are basic currency exchange rules I guess, and there is even this so-called Torbin Principle (so named after James Torbin, an Englishman credited with Torbin's Q, and who some decades ago lended his aid to the European Union, and to the United States of America in efforts to counter monetary devaluation against the German coin.) Still, this impresses me, and strikes me as a very plausible way for us Steemians to do business and take advantage even of our coin's dips.
On my side of the fence, I have to say Venezuela is a great Nation, full of fantastic, cooperative people, and with a land worthy of envy... We have resources in every area: Our country is rich and fertile, fruits of every climate and soil spring forth here, and also our mineral and oil resources are VERY considerable... There are all types of plants and trees here: from bamboo trees, to pine-trees, eucaliptos and palm trees, and then every kind of fruit-giving-tree: mangoes and berries, pineapples and apples, strawberries, blackberries and then avocados and bananas, literally the World's whole range! 🌳🌴🌲🎄🎋
On top of that, our touristic capabilities are (even though not really human-enhanced) amazing, with every kind of landscape and climate to witness here: from high-mountains, ancient mezas and deserts, to rain-forests, jungles and savannas, to the most beautiful beaches on the Caribbean and some of the most awe-inspiring rivers on the planet (including the Caroni, the Orinoco and the Arauca), we literally have it all... We only need the right economic policies to rise above our current issues... Let God decide when that will happen. For now, Venezuela has much to learn in humility, in true reverence to God and in obedience to him and his laws... In Christ we trust for this to happen. 🙏✝️🙌
My point though, was another: SteemIt and how much it can help us. Yeah, I had not done this before. And even though I've thought of it, not even in USD-bolivars transactions had I dared to venture like this. I see good prospects ahead for me and the whole community!
