The Brookhaven Experiment Review: Virtual Reality Death

I decided to take a break from my rants and real life problems to fight against this horde of zombies. I'm not much of a gamer lately because I had spent sleepless nights in the past killing counter-terrorists instead of focusing on my Database Management System thesis. I just thought computer games are not so nerdy compared to Magic the Gathering and programming. After uni, I realized that these violent games are not good for my mental well-being. But my new friends here on the island have this cafe with this virtual reality thing, so I gave it a try.

There's this cool horror game called Brookhaven Experiment, and we all love zombies, right? This game is the closest you've come to Half-Life. I have always loved first-person shooter games for the insta-kill, ha! I got scared by other people's scream actually, which made me feel scared to even try this zombie virtual reality game.

The dark and eerie surrounding was enough to make me scared. I got confused with the controls and I was not even using my flashlight. Instead, I made sure I had all my weapons, my pistol and my machete (does that say something about me too?) As I was shooting the zombies approaching me, there were already 2 zombies bigger than me attacking from behind. There were also some zombies still crawling back to me.

It was actually hard to hack and slash and stand my ground against a horde. Too bad, I couldn't survive. No matter what I do, death will come to me. Now I don't know if I could take care all of you when the World War Z comes.

Overall, Virtual Reality was a cool gaming experience, but I don't think I will get hooked. I got used to the darkness though that it felt strange to be back in the light for a moment. I guess I was just a creature the zombies tried to find hiding in the dark, they attacked me again and again with this idea that I was always meant to be destroyed.

Now I have zombies to fight in real life. Feel free to entertain yourselves for 42 seconds as I dance, cry and die.

Interesting to see this side of VR. We're always being shown what the participant is viewing, but seldom how they're reacting to what they're seeing...

You're pretty agile! I know who I'm hanging with in the case of the Zombie Apocalypse...

Hey, I'm not the worst dancer. I've seen a lot of people throw tantrums out there. Or maybe I just edited my video... hehehe.

This is a good practice for the Zombie Apocalypse.

Love the sound track. :)

I have to agree that Sabbath is most appropriate for music to kill, and be killed by, zombies.

Of course, I think Sabbath is great to smell flowers by, pet puppies, and snuggle kittens, too =p

Hehe thanks!

i think you may have been born to be a bad ass zombie killer. 👹

Not yet hehe. I'm still training.

Mebbe I'll get to try VR someday. After my terrifying experiences with starting with shooters like Doom, Quake, Unreal, and the myriad of other examples, well, maybe not =p

Unless there's a VR game about, say, growing petunias XD

It might not be so good to play violent games all the time.

The cost of a virtual reality gaming system: about 1500.00...
Watching diabolika kill zombies to Sabbath: priceless!

Wow, I have no idea, so expensive!

I just thought you are tired of cats. :)

Not at all....give Feliz a big squeeze for me:)
