Meet kisuh karlson a teacher at the Government technique high school Bamenda (Cameroon ) and a solar energy engineer . He is 24 years old and a native from the north west region of Cameroon .
This interview was carried out through a WhatsApp video call because he is not presence now in Bamenda. All the images used in this write up where sent to me via WhatsApp after the interview.
Why do you love teaching and engineering ?
Karlson:
I love teaching cos leading someone to discovering truths and mysteries of the universe is an absolute joy and also cos its a pathway to inspiríng someone to love Engineering as much as I do.
I love Engineering cos its fascinating to be actually able to make something, to realise an idea and make something actually work.
What made you decide to pursue this profession?
Karlson:
Movies, always loved how "cool", and smart Engineers looked.
What contribution or benefit do you think you making to the society and your family?
Karlson:
I am a Renewable Energy Engineer in a Developing Country plagued with constant power failures. I help provide a better dependable alternative of Energy(Solar Energy) which solves this problem.
How do you manage time with both teaching and engineering?
Karlson :
As a Secondary School Teacher, i don't teach everyday so on my Teacher-Off days, i explore my Engineering options.
what your favorite part of your profession?
Karlson:
Building and operable system.
what advice do you have for someone who wants to gain skills in your field?
Karlson:
Keep pushing towards your goal no matter the odds. And always remember to do a lil towards that goal everyday.
