LIVING IN THE SPIRIT

Galatians 5: 16 says ‘this I say then, walk in the spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh’
Man is composed of the body, soul, and spirit. Naturally, our body loves to have its way, it always want to be satisfied hence the major reason behind all human behavior
Amos 3:3 says ‘can two walk together except they agree?’. The answer is no, but our body always want to be in disagreement with the spirit, this is where the problem lies. Galatians 5:17
What does it mean to live in the spirit? It is as simple as subjecting our body under the influence of the spirit in accordance with God’s will. Our soul comes in place when choosing to do God’s will, the soul is what binds the body and spirit.
Our soul is what appears before the judgment throne of God, it records when we satisfy our body and when we choose to do the will of the spirit.
How do I live in the spirit? Living in the spirit is a lifestyle. It entails sacrifice and denying yourself from all fleshy desire. We are in the 21st century where indecency has become a norm, a natural man would struggle to let go of his fleshy desire.
We should bear in mind that living in the spirit requires us to draw our strength from God, the source. Ask for the ability to obey and do His will.
All these said and done, we have a part to play too
- Flee from all devices of the enemy. This can come in form of anger, jealousy, pornography and all sorts.
Ephesians 5:3-4 - Subject your body to fasting, this enriches your spirit. The body has less control when you energize your spirit.
Keep your health status in mind though - Feed your spirit with the word of God, be consistent. 2 corinthians 4:2
We must always resist evil. Fleeing from it will only work for so long. We need to rely on God's power and overcome the attacks of the enemy.
