Everything old is new again.
Including koalas.

The Perth Mint is well know for their coins, including their highly collectible koala series. However, this year there is a new koala in town - the piedfort. This 2oz beauty has limited mintage of just 75,000 and is the first in a new Perth Mint series. The series will feature iconic Australian mother and baby animals. The coin has a two dollar face value and was released in June.
The piedfort koala is .9999 pure with a 40.6mm diameter. The diameter plus the 2oz weight makes this a nice thick coin. Each side of the coin is engraved with fine lines that emanate from the coin’s center to it’s edge. The koala artwork on the coin’s reverse was designed by Aleysha Howarth, an artist who has worked with Perth Mint since 2008.
This koala approves this message. 🐨

Nice coin!
Thanks @kp138!
I like it! Thanks for showing it. So many shiny, pretty silver pieces on the want list.
Just when you knock a couple off the list more get added!!! ☺️ An unbreakable cycle of shopping.
I note that you like momma and baby design in coins... like in kooks! Piedforts are nice silver coins as they are thicker, chunkier...
PerthMint is capitalizing on their popularity and pumping out so many designs, the way the RCM does.
You know... I never thought about the mama baby coin thing but you are right. ☺️ But who can resist a baby animal? 😍
Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold
