History teaches... or at least it should.

Thanks to her we know everything that happened to our predecessors who populated the planet before our arrival, we know pretty much everything or almost. We rely on technological tools and manuscript to rebuild it step by step and deal with it. It increases our knowledge and at the same time should teach us how to behave in certain situations and not to repeat the same mistakes, for better or for worse. Practically a free life teacher available to everyone 24/7.

I chose some famous sentences that should make you think, here are some of the most significant I found:

Study the past if you would define the future. (Confucius)

A generation which ignores history has no past and no future. (Robert Anson Heinlein)

That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history is the most important of all the lessons of history. (Aldous Huxley)

There's the story, then there's the real story, then there's the story of how the story came to be told. Then there's what you leave out of the story. Which is part of the story too. (Margaret Atwood)

Historical sentences spoken by those who have studied and written the story, each in its own way. In a present in which the problems realted to wars, the environment and many more, we have a teacher of life from which to learn and pick. History is full of striking, exceptional, tragic, lugubrious, controversial and conflicting facts.

History repeats itself. (Thucydides)

History doesn't repeats itself. (Vilfredo Pareto)

The statements "history repeats itself" and "History doesn't repeats itself" are in practice equally true. (George Macaulay Trevelyan)
