TI PUNCH - the other nice rum drink - and How to create it.

Today I like to show you a nice cocktail from the Caribbean islands.
Ti Punch
at any daytime
is part of the
Caribbean lifestyle
Whenever you traveled there, you will know this little drink for sure.
A nice and fresh mix of lemon, brown sugar and rum
What is a Ti Punch
Here my short Description based on some WikiPedia articles which I modified a bit. See the links as reference to that posts.
Ti' Punch is based on the french "Petit Ponch" means "a small punch". This is a rum-based mixed drink that is especially popular in Martinique, Guadeloupe, Haiti, French Guiana and other French-speaking Caribbean islands.
TI Punch is a bit like Caipirinha wich is from the Brazilian area and the well know Daiquiri the brother from the Cuban area.
The drink is traditionally made with white rhum agricole, lime, and cane syrup. While aged rhum agricole can be used in place of white rhum agricole, other fruit flavors may be added on top of the lime, and sugar may be substituted for cane syrup, a Ti' Punch can only be made with rhum agricole.
And Rhum agricole is the French term for cane juice rum, a style of rum originally distilled in the French Caribbean islands from freshly squeezed sugar cane juice rather than molasses like many other rum is using.
My Ti Punch from today
We used a nice rum from Barbados. The Plantation was a catch on one of my flights and sadly, it is nearly empty.
Into the glas
First use the juice from one lime
Add around 4cl of rum and than add two small spoons of brown sugar to the lime juice.
Add some more half slices of lime
I cut another half lime in slices and than in half. Just the perfect size for that kind of small glas.
And the Ti Punch is ready
A perfect drink to serve as an apéritifs before a good meal. Suddenly, the Ti punch was so perfect, that we have to use another one as digestifs after the meal. Both works well. ;-)

oeeee...to me this is the only rum that makes the one and only authentique Ti punch..it has to be from martinique!

Sounds like a wonderful drink. I am more of a beer, wine or whisky person. Less trouble - open and drink. For whisky, i just add water. :-)
There is a good drink for every situation or so.
I love beer and as you might know I run the weekly #BeerSaturday challenge - but sometimes a little cocktail has give a special kick.
This one does the sour kick!
And it brings back the memories from traveling the Caribbean islands.
