Introduction - Hi, I'm DEROSNEC

Hello and welcome to my shiny new steemit blog!

My name is Nina, and I am a multimedia artist who goes by the pseudonym DEROSNEC. This is primarily a vlog, but I do have written transcripts which will be included with each video. I realize that I forgot to write the date on my paper in the photo.. I promise it's me and that I'm a human! :]

A little about me

I’ll try to keep this short... I am primarily a musician and filmmaker. I’m the owner of [Oh Just Peachy Studios Productions] (http://ojpstudios.com) an independent video production company and the [OJPS Music Collective] (http://music.ojpstudios.com).

Musically, I’m a classically trained singer who writes electropop-ish industrial music with a metal twist. Think Nine Inch Nails meets Depeche Mode, IAMX, and Puscifer, with a little Garbage (the band) thrown in. I also actively sing with other projects as they pop up, including my husband’s electro-industrial project, Model M, and my dear friend Maxwell’s (mostly) metal project, Everson Poe. Visually, I’m an illustrator and cinematic storyteller. I make graphic novels, storyboard, write, produce, direct, and edit as well as do quite a bit of my own VFX and animation. I have created quite a few music videos for myself and others, and am developing a healthy list of film and video development projects in various stages of production.

As a day job, I work full time as a film editor, where I get to work on some pretty exciting projects. Unfortunately I’m not able to talk about most of those, at least for the projects that I’m currently working on right now. But I am able to offer some insight into the Hollywood film industry as well as the independent film industry.

I grew up in San Francisco, and moved to Canada to get my degree - where I ended up staying for 10 years. Currently however, I live in Los Angeles, California with my husband Terrence, who as I mentioned before is a talented music creator as well as a stay-at-home-dad to our rambunctious kiddo. Because I’m heavily involved in his music and music videos, you’ll probably end up seeing quite a bit of him here, too.

Also in the house (aka zoo) we have our 17 year old corn snake who goes by the name of Rowan and our 19 year old twitchy cat named Dunebug.

What to look forward to on this vlog

Full disclosure, I’ll mostly be using this blog to show off, as I am an enormous egomaniac on a quest to achieve pretentiousness of the highest authority. Seriously though, once a week I’ll post a video talking about something I have either already worked on or am currently working on, with specifics and insight into the planning or execution of each project.

Peppered amongst these informational vlogs you’ll also see lots of behind the scenes stuff, original and cover song performances, mini-music videos, silly short films, and lots of drawings.

Ultimately though, I’d prefer to talk about stuff you’re actually interested in, so feel free to chime in with a comment or tweet with questions and topic suggestions.
