Death Valley Trips - Telescope Peak
I drove out to Death Valley and setup my camp at the Mahogany Flat campground. Then I went and checked out the old charcoal kilns before making the hike up to Wildrose peak(9,064'). The hike was easy and the views were awesome! On the way down there was some nice cliffs to sit on and watch the sunset before getting back to camp for the night.

The next day I hiked up the closed service road to the radio towers on Rogers peak(9,994'). It was super windy up there! Then I dropped through the saddle and headed up to Bennett peak(9,980'). From there I got a great view of Telescope peak(11,049') and the climb I was about to do. I headed up the switchbacks with only a few patches of snow to contend with. I got to the summit fairly easily and had plenty of time to have some lunch and enjoy the amazing view!! The peak just towers over the desert with Badwater Basin(-282') to the east and Panamint valley to the west you really feel like you are way up high! After hiking down I still had extra time so I headed down to Pinon flat to make the short hike up to Hummingbird spring before heading back to camp for one more night at Mahogany Flat.

The next day I packed up and headed out, but when I got down to Panamint valley I decided to have one last small adventure and I decided to climb Lake Hill(2,030'), a small mountain that sits in the Panamint dry lake, before heading back home.

oh wow, those are amazing landscape.
Death Valley is the largest national park in the U.S. and almost everywhere you go in the park is an awesome looking landscape. And climbing to 11,049' on the highest peak in the park and being in the snowy mountains while overlooking the desert valley way down below at -282' is just incredible!
