ABOUT THIS PICTURE - SMALL HINT OR BACKGROUND
I'll start off the games with a photo of @caseygrimley on Antelope Island. What focal length did I use to create this photo?

THE PICTURE

Week 1 - Season 1 - Day 1

PUBLIC PRIZE POOL = 1 SBD / each

  • From Each Post of a Photo Game Star
  • Prizes will go up in future weeks
Vote and Follow and it will happen faster

TIME LIMIT

  • For this game you have 2 days to guess
  • Winners announced on Wednesday’s game (usually morning)

RULES FOR PUBLIC

  • If only one person gets the correct (Closest) focal length they will win full prize pool
  • If multiple people guess correctly (tie for 1st): 50% to first person / 50% divided between the next 5 people
  • One guess per comment
  • Two guesses per blog post
  • No editing your guess

RULES FOR PHOTO GAME STARS (This weeks posting players)

  • The “Photo Game Star” must piggyback on YOUR guesses (They can’t give hints just say who’s guess they join)
  • As with all Photo Games the weekly “Stars” are not part of the monetary awards
  • They get two guesses
  • Only one winner per post
  • 1 Photo Game point given out per post.
  • Points are added to their total for the week

STRATEGY TIP

  • We enjoy strategy as long as it creates a fun and non-destructive environment
  • Example: Perfectly acceptable to give a super compelling and yet BS reason for your first guess and then give a low key guess at the end if you are certain of the answer. Just remember if someone beats you to the answer they get the bigger prize. _Who will you trust… your intuition?
  • You can also flaunt your answer if you know you’re right and you are first … and then people will never know if you’re throwing people off your track or you really did get it right.

I think that might be 120mm. Looks like a shot with telephoto lens, but not in 150-200mm range. And as You use 24-120 alot, I assume it could be 120mm :)

Good rationale! :)

My bet is 70mm :) As I just commented on @jarvie's post, thanks for hosting this competition!

I'm backing this one. I remember having to hold still for maybe a second or two, because of the slower shutter speed, which was likely caused by stopping down to f/8, and f/8 would be about right for sharpness throughout.

You're sciencing too much.

@jpphotography, thanks for playing!! :D

So uncertain??? ... I'm thinking that's part of your strategy.

Well I'll think about jumping in with you but this is @derekkind I think he's trickier than that.

Or maybe he just wants us to think he's tricky!! #MindGames

Or maybe I want you to think I think I'm being tricky....did you think about that?

Hmmm. Based on 100% guesswork, 35mm.

What if you only used 83% guesswork?

Well, according to my calculations, then I'd probably wind up at right around 29mm!

Haha, okay!

Haha, I look like sasquatch walking through your sunset! :D

I was really impressed with your pose - it looks like you don't have a lot of traction to balance with!

I'm trying to think back on this trip to remember what lenses you had and were using...

I think I was using that 14mm a lot...

I do not doubt it...but I know your game. 😉

Oh....but DO you?

105mm. I was thinking 200 at first but it looks a little wider.

For my first guess in our side game I'm going with YOUR GUESS ... don't fail me @scottshots!!

I have my reasons one being I didn't want the other guys to jump on this one first. haha

Haha! I'll try not to... I don't know what lenses he's rockin' but I'm thinking maxed out on a 24-105...

I do use the 24-120 a lot!

So you're telling me there's a chance...

The 24-120 is my most versatile lens. I use it most of the time.

I hear you. My go to lens is a 24-105. But the 16-35 get a lot of use too.

Sounds cool! Thank you all for coming up with such fun ideas! Love the creativity.
My guess is 85mm.

Interesting. Very interesting. :)

I am going with 150mm . No aspect distortion between the size of the arms and legs so seems like a short depth of field flattened perspective telephoto shot to me.

I like how you rationialize it!

70mm focal length

I wonder...

35mm!

Give or take 35mm...

Well I'll give you a hint: it's not 0mm!
