When Did You Last Take a Moment to STOP and Appreciate Your Surroundings?

in #zappl7 years ago

We run & run & always seem to be busy with this and that. SO many things to be done! Sometimes it feels like we've forgotten how to pause and chill out for a bit... or we fear we'll be labeled "slackers," if we do. When did YOU last stop?

That is really a wonderful experience my friend.

I've BEEN stopped for going on three years.
Some weeks I don't even leave the apartment.
I'm retired.
I like it.

I aspire to that.
For the time being, I have to do something that makes it possible to buy groceries.
One of these days, I hope to retire. Time will tell.

I remember.
back in june
by the light of a full moon
do you remember what steem did THEN?

Ah yes, that amazing time when we went from 7 cents to $2.30+ in a couple of months... it would be nice to see a run like that again!

I remember it differently.
I recall it happened in a few HOURS!

I sat and watched it, drinking whisky, while it happend.

There was a moment this morning when I was fascinated with the army of ants outside my door. Watching them was like watching an orchestra; a kaleidoscope of movement. I watched for about a minute....
And then I promptly handed hubby the broom and bug killer. :P

Ants, piles of leaves, the clover blooming in the lawn... they can all offer us moments of fascination that could easily be overlooked. And then we get the bug killer. Or a rake. Or a lawnmower. But at least we move on, knowing we took a moment to notice what was there... which is more than the hordes who simply go through life in a very sheep-like manner.

That a good question and since I can't answer it off the top of my head I'd better investigate as to why!

We're just so busy "going" that there seems little time to actually BE "where we are." Because we're busy going and if we stop, it feels like time's a-wasting. Which is a shame.

YES. I Think exploring the nature and its beauty is best way of having fun..:) well shared .

I agree with that... I am fortunate to live on the coast now, so I often go for walks on the beach now, like when I saw these migrating ducks in the picture. But even when I lived in the desert some years back, I'd go out for walks and spend a little time in places "where there was nothing man-made." Thanks for the comment!

These ducks are very beautiful. i missed to mention that. stay connected :) have good day brother.. love from Pakistan.

This Picture is a Beautiful piece Of Art

I sometimes think I should go live in a farm for a while. Then, I think it is hard work and I give up.

I think the more pertinent question for me is when did you last start lol

When and how long is that moment to stop and appreciate my surroundings?

At the right moment, when it is necessary and the time required to meditate and listen to the "sounds of silence" of nature and my soul that wisely advise me.

I try to take time every week. Time to just sit and veg out. Need to recharge my batteries.
