ColorChallenge - Wednesday Yellow - Variations on a Theme - Photography

There's still a bit of Wednesday left here on the US West Coast, so that means I can still sneak this photo post in as part of the "Wednesday Yellow" theme for @kalemandra's daily#colorchallenge...  

Although it is only the middle of August, it already feels a little bit like the seasons are changing. Walking down the hill from where I park my car, I noticed how things are quietly starting to look "fall like" around here.

A few yellow flowers were in view (pictured below) ... and they made me think about the many different ways you can find subject matter for Colorchallenge.

For one, I had been meaning to include one of my hand painted beach stones, but the time had never quite seemed right. So here's one, at left-- it's surprisingly detailed when you get up close.

So the above is one of the yellow flowers I saw on my way to work. It is very BRIGHT, and there's little doubt it is just a common weed, but I thought it was pretty enough that I made a stop for a few photos. That's the best one!

Camera used: Fuji Finepix HS20 EXR, various settings; all items shot in natural daylight.
