Wonders of the forest
I spent the last couple of weeks with my family in Slovakia. I know I haven't been online for almost 3 weeks but I decided to spend quality time with my relatives without internet connection. I hope I haven't been forgotten here yet 😊
I must say that this was my most relaxing vacation in Slovakia so far. I didn't make plans and my schedule was very flexible. I also didn't feel like I had to check my emails or social media every now and then. I think that 'liberated' is the right word for how I was feeling.
We went on short trips almost every day and visited my grandma every evening. She is home-bound and always so happy when we visit her so I can't skip a day without her when we're there. She is the reason why we went on this unexpected vacation and she appreciated every minute that we spent with her.
We returned back to Switzerland on Saturday night and today I've started to put together a few posts that I want to share with you from this trip. I visited a couple of interesting places and I'm sure that you'll enjoy seeing them too.
Today I'd like to take you with me on a walk to a forest close to my hometown. It was a hot summer day and it was refreshing to hide from the sun under large trees.
We came across many beautiful insects on our way and I was pleased to take a few decent photos as usually I'm too slow or they are too impatient to wait for me to finally take a shot 😊

I like summer as there is so much life around us. We should pause our duties for a minute and look around us. There is so much pleasure in seeing all these wonders of nature.

It is great to know you had a good time with your family. I can't think a moment without internet connection. LOL. Both @steemit and @Steemmonsters now part of my daily life. I thought the same (that I wouldn't be able to do it) but it is really pleasant to disconnect from time to time. You realize that you didn't lose anything, you gained some quality time with those you love. I believe that we are just afraid to do this step :)

I wish I could take more photos of insects but I'm just too slow in positioning and finding the best angle. Hopefully one day I will become better :)
OMG, while its great that you strive to be better, just remember that you are 10 levels above everyone else (and that's on a 15 level scale) ;)

All photos are beautiful but that butterfly photo is special, perfectly focused, what an amazing shot! Spending time with grandma is priceless, well done!

I thought the same :) That photo with the butterfly is my favorite too...
It's always so hard as every time I leave I had to cope with the feeling that it was the last time for us.. I wish she was healthier but well, the only thing I can do is spend time with her and I do try hard to make it possible as often as I can :)

Thank you Sara, I totally agree. There is nothing better than a nice walk in a forest or visit of your beloved family members. I just wish that my grandma could join me :)

It's a busy time for farmers now, I know. My uncle is one as well :) But I'm sure that you'll get some beautiful harvest and it will be all worth the work that you invest in your farm :)
I agree with you. I so enjoy being in nature these days. It's too hot in the city so it's refreshing to go to the forest as often as possible :)
Too bad you were late foe the berries but at least you caught a butterfly. I like that photo the most. Good to know that all is well with your family. Cheers!

I don't mind that much to be honest :) There is a berry season going on here now so I have plenty of them anyway :)
