My 1st Steemit anniversary!
Today, it's been one year since my first post on Steemit. I opened my account in March 2018 but it took me more than 2 months to publish my first post. I remember thinking constantly about the content of my posts as I had no idea what I should write about because my life wasn't special at all and I didn't know if there was anything interesting to share with the community.
One year later and all this indecisiveness and insecurity make me smile 😊 Now I know that it was a great decision to start this journey. I have met so many incredible people and learned a lot from them. In fact, I keep learning about the crypto world every day.
It's been an exciting year and I must say that Steemit has changed my life. In my opinion, this is the future of social media and I definitely want to be part of it.
I want to thank everyone who has been part of my journey during last 12 months. I appreciate the support that I have received from all of you. I don't know if I would be still here without you...
A special THANK YOU to @davemccoy for being an amazing friend and for helping me learn to swim in the Steemit ocean. I wouldn't be where I am today without your support. You helped me from the very beginning and even now you are always there for me. I am truly grateful that I can call you my friend.
@plantstoplanks, @lenasveganliving, @discovereurovelo, @guchtere, @livinguktaiwan, @janton, @trincowski, @lyndsaybowes, @roleerob, @matkodurko, @itchyfeetdonica, @for91days, @kimzwarch, @sallybeth23, @sjarvie5, @svemirac, @melinda010100, @leeart, @scrawly, @veryspider, @evecab, @abh12345 and many more became key part of my Steemit experience as well and I am very happy to have met you all!
Thanks for an incredible year Steemit community!
Cheers,
Martina

I'm shocked it's only been a year, I feel like you're a real veteran, love your posts, the quality is always through the roof! Your spirit is so bright, thank you for giving so much to your fellow Steemians! We love @delishtreats!!!!!!
Oh, Lyndsay! Thank you so much for being so sweet! You've given me so much support and you've always been kind to me! I am very grateful for that. You are a true friend :)
Have a lovely day!
Martina one year already and your account is so rich already rich in information blogs I mean, and rich in interactions with new friends. So congrats and we are glad you are here
Thank you Britt! :) Sometimes it feels that I'm here much longer :)
I know the feeling !
Wow, that is very nice of you to say about me and I'm honored to be someone that you can call a friend (same here too). I think you have an amazing ability to tell a story and you have wonderful taste. I think you will go far in life and I've been happy to watch the world through your eyes.
I look forward to the future years where you show us your further development. I can't imagine yet what amazing things you will come up with, but no matter what it is, I'm positive it will show the brightness with which you live life!
Happy anniversary and thank you again for being MY friend :)
I wouldn't forgive myself if I wouldn't have mentioned what you've done for me. You spent so much time and shared your knowledge, and you never asked for anything..
I hope that I won't disappoint you with my future posts :)
Thank you for your lovely words Dave!
You should never worry about disappointing me... First you are a natural storyteller, and second if you just be you, then it is impossible because its in your DNA! My kind words are earned by you and are sincere, but you're welcome (even though its me that should be thanking you) :)
Congratulations for your Steem's birthday :).
Thank you scrawls! :)
Wow @delishtreats ...
... this really surprised me! I have just finished my one year anniversary post, having published my first post on May 14th. In all of our past interactions, I don't recall ever having any idea we started on more or less the same day. So ... Catching up a bit, before calling it a (long) day, I was following up on "mentions" and ... Amazing! 😊
I smiled at your reference to taking two months to decide what to write about. Sometime, I need to go back and find that post. Or you can provide me a link ... 😉 But, I assume by now you are very comfortable in knowing you are a great content creator for our blockchain.
I am very happy to have "met" you @delishtreats and you are listed in my post as well! I elected to make my "day of" anniversary post about the value I have added along the way in my own "journey" through the Steemisphere. Then I will focus on key people in the next few days, when I write my
monthlyone year highlights post. All the best to you, my dear friend, for a great second year!! 👍
I also had no idea that we started almost on the same day :) Happy anniversary!! I have seen that you posted something but as I know it's going to be long I have to get my breakfast before reading :)
No, no, you don't need to go back. It's not worth your time, lol. Just focus on my future posts :) Trust me, those will be much better than the first one :)
I was also thinking to write about the value that I've added to the blockchain or about my personal achievements but I just don't like to talk about myself so much that I decided to make it short and simple :)
Looking forward to reading your summary..
Thank you for stopping by my dear friend and cheers to the second year!
Ohhh, nooo @delishtreats ...
... this is not good. You have me pegged ... 😉 I have to work on fixing that …
Haha! Seriously, you will see at the end of my anniversary efforts that I “broke” the Steem interface … Hmmm. Maybe there is a clue in there somewhere, but being slow, it may take me awhile to figure it out … 😊
As with most of what I do, I had a serious objective with deciding to put in the time to produce this one year anniversary post. It is a good thing, to me, that we are all different. It is “engaging” with that rich diversity of others from all over the world which keeps me coming back personally. Lord knows it doesn’t pay very well … Maybe $0.00001 … an hour or something … 😉
Well, I will take you at your word and just look forward to our future interaction “in here” and feel blessed that you have been one of those which whom I “crossed paths” on my journey through the Steemisphere. Hopefully better days are ahead. Until “next time,” all the best to you @delishtreats!
P.S. Noted that you are still on FTG's "good girl" list ... I used to be on his "good boy" list, but somehow (still don't know how / where ...) got knocked off due to the unceasing flag wars ...
Oh, I didn't have time to look at your post yet. I had breakfast, then I prepared a post for IG, then I had to clean the kitchen, prepared lunch, cleaned kitchen again and now I finally finished my matcha latte :) Sometimes I feel like days are just passing by and I do nothing..
And I didn't mean it as a bad thing that your posts are long. I like them and don't mind reading them :) It's just that it takes long when I'm hungry :) Better to eat something before :)
I agree with you that it doesn't pay very well. There were days when I spent 8 hours on a post for Steemit and then it paid less than 1 USD. Lucky me, I've never done it for money as otherwise I would have quit already :)
Will you be coming to Bangkok this year for SF4? I talked to my husband yesterday and we agreed that we will go and make a long vacation out of it. I have always wanted to go to Asia and this is a good reason to finally do it..
Well, you are right. I seem to be on a 'good girl' list. I don't know how I deserved that though but it is a huge support. There are days when I don't get votes but then there are other days when every single comment get some upvotes. I have no idea how it works but I do appreciate each vote :)
Hope you're having a lovely day!
Not to worry @delishtreats …
… as I did not take this as anything other than a statement of fact. I do write long posts typically and likely would do better “in here” if I shortened them up. Don’t know that for sure, but it has crossed my mind. As I’ve said elsewhere though, we have to remain true to ourselves. I’m a sort of the “what you see is what you get” type, so not sure I’ll get very far in making any significant changes … 😉
No, that is “not on the radar screen” for this Steemian. I read “in here” recently about a get-together being organized here in the Rocky Mountain West and I am very unlikely to attend even that. Honestly, I feel somewhat conflicted about it and still unsettled on what I might do over time. For now, maintaining my privacy has “trumped” all other considerations …
That said, great to hear you are going, so we can all expect a “full report” when you get back! 😊 Seriously, that sounds like a lot of fun that you can work in, while seeing some of Asia with your beloved. I hope it goes wonderfully well for you both.
Having a fine day “over here” thank you very much. All the best to you “over there,” until next time! 👋
Happy 1st Steemit Birthday, @delishtreats!!! You have bring so much joy and quality and wonderful things onto the platform and I celebrate you <3 <3 <3

Such lovely words spider! <3 <3 <3 I don't even deserve them and you left me speechless :)
You always know what to say and how to make people feel great. You are such a lovely person and I hope that one day we will meet in real life too.
Thank you for being such an amazing friend!
Howdy Martina and congratulations! I was exactly the same way, it took me two months to make my first post. The only difference between us is that I still feel that way..I have no idea what to say, I have nothing special to share and I don't know what to write about! lol.
But you, oh my, fabulous job and everyone loves your beautiful posts, so well done!
Oh cowboy, you and your lies :) I don't believe you that you still feel like this :) You make a post every day while I post now once a week.. so who is the one who doesn't have anything to say? ;)
How are you doing my friend? I have a business meeting today at 2 PM so fingers crossed! :)
Thank you for stopping by!
oh cool! A business meeting, that sounds like progress! oh, but it is probably already over by the time you see this, how did it go? lol.
About my saying that I have nothing to say, I wasn't teasing, I was telling the truth. lol. I mean I don't have anything of my own, original stuff to say so I have to rely on other people's stories. I still feel like I have nothing personally to add.
Hey, once a week is enough if you are busy doing other things, at least you are staying connected!
I think it went very well. There are more people who would like to have this place and I wanted to take it from September which might be too late so I told him that I will be flexible and could take it from July too. There are however some minor issues that I need to check with the authorities before I agree to anything because Switzerland is very strict and I don't want to sign something before I will be sure that I will be able to obtain the business license..
You should start posting about your property. You do some work around your house so this could be something what people would like to see, don't you think?
I also save money now so there is not that much travel and fun things going around in my life right now, lol. But I'll be going to Slovakia in 4 weeks and I hope to travel there a little bit so I should some some stuff to post :)
Howdy again Martina! oh, I must be out of the loop. What place are you talking about, it is a different place than the one with the landlord who was being uncooperative?
I haven't talked about it on Steemit yet but will probably make a post tomorrow or on Thursday. Yes, I told the other guy that I'm going to look for another solution since he is not being co-operative. Plus if you remember I said that the location was not ideal anyway so it was not such a huge loss. I got a message from a friend of mine that he would know about something much better. It is on the main square and it's a beautiful old building. I went there last week to check it out and yesterday I met with the owner. It was very nice and I have a good feeling about it. But first I have to talk to the authorities to find out if I would get a permit to make a restaurant there as now it's used as a shop. I don't want to agree on anything unless I know that it's going to work. The owner is on vacation for 2 weeks from today so I have to figure it out within this time as he has more people who would like to rent it from him. I really hope that this one will work out :)
howdy today Martina! oh, that sounds wonderful! wow, I'm excited about this new prospect now. Yes, a post to bring us up to date will be marvelous!
OH WOW!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS! Party time! Its been a delight to meet you Martina and the next twelve months will surely be epic! You have so many surprises up your sleeves to impress us with. Bless you for all your hard work here in the community too. You are a fabulous Steemian! Please accept my small minnow boost to toast your wonderful work to date. RESTEEMED!
Thank you for your lovely words Sallybeth! :) You're one of the first people that I have met here and therefore you have a special place in my heart :)
Cheers to the next twelve months! I'm sure that those will be epic for both of us!
Aww, you will always be one of my most special Steemit friends too!
I'm sooooo happy to have met you on here, as well! I remember feeling very similarly when I first started, but then the community on here makes it so easy to just share what you are passionate about without any judgment. I adore your travel posts as you have taken me to places that I never knew existed, but you have also inspired me in so many other ways! It makes me smile knowing that if (when?) we ever meet we would hit it off like old friends. 💚
Exactly this is what kept me here. People here accept whatever your post is about. There is so much hate on IG or FB but here people seem to simply discuss their opinion without getting heated discussion. Well, this happens as well but not as often as on other social media :)
And I adore your food posts. You are so creative and you inspired many of my meals. It's always such pleasure to follow your farmer market haul..
BTW: Will you go to the SF4 this year? It's been announced that it's going to be in Bangkok..there we would have a chance to meet in the real life :)
Thank you for your kind words Katie!
I totally agree! I am still on Facebook & IG mostly to make sure I have a presence with my wellness business, but I definitely don't get the same interaction. Unless it's with some of my Steem people on there, haha! Or my local farmers. They do like when I share what I've made with their produce, so if nothing else I keep that up regularly to support them!
I don't think Steemfest will be in the cards for me as it is so far away and quite expensive to fly there. I'm sure it will be a blast, so maybe one of these times I'll get the opportunity to go!
Have a great weekend!
Congrats on your first anniversary Martina! Your passion and engagement of level is second to none here. I'm so pleased to have met you and hopefully one day we can meet in person ^_^
Thank you so much for your kind words Pauline! I also hope that one day we will meet in person. Let's see where the Steemfest will be held this year :)
