Trip to France - Part 25 - Castle Hill, Nice
Everything you may have read about the walk to the top of this hill is very, very true. It is steep, it is continuous, and it is not easy.
However, the views towards to east and the beach at Nice as you walk up, are fantastic. And then you reach the top of the hill and the views are even more spectacular.
At the top, you can then walk over to the west side of the hill, and your reward is a great view of the harbor below.
Walking north, you will enter the garden area.
We came back down by walking to the north towards the cemetery, and then down the trail to the first set of stairs that brought us back to the old section of Nice. Which was a nice way to get back down, as it was shady.
This place is free, no tickets required and it is well worth the visit!
