Trip to France - Part 24 - Promenade des Anglais, Nice
Beautiful. This iconic promenade is always busy with joggers, tourists, couples, tour groups, families, dog walkers, bikers, skaters, homeless people and all sorts just watching the ships roll in and out of the port. It’s a veritable hive of activity with beautiful sea and hill views, working lighthouses and grand old and modern looking hotels dotted along the road with lots of very good restaurants awaiting your discovery.
Popular beach, but note is is stoned, not sand. A visit to Nice without a stroll along here during both daylight and night hours would be criminal. The French Riviera is a must for any visitor!
My personal preference was for the area around the old town due to its proximity to the cascades and the market/restaurant area but whatever your preference, you will love this. Plenty of toilets around in restaurants but expect to pay 50 cents for any public use.
You can’t go to Nice and not walk the Promenade so almost not worth telling you to. You can’t avoid it. And you wouldn’t want to.
