You may have noticed that a student in your class has difficulty reading, generally lacks motivation and does not like to participate in events using books. These students may have trouble choosing the appropriate texts and therefore do not like reading for pleasure.
Here are ideas and activities to increase your students' reading motivation and encourage them to get into books:
Read and check

An excellent way to make the reluctant reader feel special and motivate him to want to read is by asking him to review a new book for the class library. Ask the student to write a brief description of the plot, the main characters and what they think about the book. Then, the student shares his opinion with his classmates. An encounter

An excellent way to awaken the interest of your students in reading is to create a reading group. Each week, select up to five students to participate in a special reading group. This whole group should read the same book, and on a given day, the group will meet at home to discuss the book and share what they thought about it.Character questions

Encourage the most reluctant readers to read and have them answer the questions of the characters. In the reading center, post many photos of characters from the stories your students are currently reading. Under each photo, write "Who am I?" And leave room for children to complete their answers. After the student determines the character, he must share more detailed information about them. Another way to do this exercise is to replace a character's photo with subtle suggestions. For example, "Your best friend is a man with a very big hat and a donkey."
