Venezuelan scientist, was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, in 1924. He invented the diamond tipped scalpel, was a pioneer in techniques of electronic microscopy and decisive in the process of scientific modernization of his country. I speak 14 languages, I work at N.A.S.A, for the APOLO project.
He founded the Venezuelan Institute of Neurology and Brain Research (IVNIC).
Humberto Fernández, began his studies in Zulia, continuing in Curaçao and New York. In 1936 he entered the German School of Maracaibo and the following year he went to Germany, where he finished high school. With only fifteen years old he began his medical studies at the University of Munich.
He graduated summa cum laude in medicine at the University of Munich, in 1944 and, when he was only 20 years old, he returned to revalidate his degree obtaining the same academic honors at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV).
In 1945, he moved to Maracaibo, to begin his professional practice in the Psychiatric Hospital for a very short time, since his nascent passion for the study of brain diseases prompted him to go back to graduate studies in Neurology. and Neuropathology at the George Washington University, in whose hospital he became an internist.
At the University of Pricenton he met Albert Einstein, who suggested that he continue his specialization in Biophysics in Sweden, in support of his already remarkable knowledge of Neurology. Thus, a meteoric trajectory begins in the deepening of scientific knowledge and the professional development of it.
