STEEMCHURCH: The fight of the good battle
Without blinking
source
During a civil war in Korea, a certain general advanced relentlessly with his troops, taking province after province, and destroying everything in his path. The people of a city, knowing that the general was approaching - and having heard stories of his cruelty - fled to a nearby mountain.
The troops found the empty houses. After much searching, they discovered a Zen monk who had remained in the place. The general ordered him to come before him, but the monk did not obey.
Furious, the general was where the monk was.
-You should not know who I am! he roared. I am the one who can pierce your chest with my sword, without even blinking!
The Zen master turned to him and answered calmly:
-You should not know who I am either. I am the one who can be pierced by a sword, without even blinking.
Hearing this, the general bowed, bowed, and retreated.
Reflection:
"Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called" 1Timothy 6:12
To fight the good fight of faith is to hold on to whatever happens, whatever happens; yes we keep advancing DESPITE OF, we will receive eternal life.
