Welcome to my view and outtake on 8 of the best Easter Eggs in Video Games:
Urban dictionary :easter egg
top meanings:
A hidden item placed in a movie, television show .
or otherwise visual media for close watchers.
A secret, hidden inside a video game, DVD movie, or even one of Strong Bad's e-mails.
Often, it's not needed to progress a story.
But Easter egg actually Originates from the the 1975 movie
"The Rocky Horror Picture Show,"
when the cast had an Easter Egg hunt but most of the eggs went unfound
We love the sound of an achievement. Something about that Mastered little "ping"
sets our Bodies jolting about with excitement . But Easter Eggs? That's a whole new level of EPIC!
Finding an Easter Egg in a video game can leaves us amused or even scratching our little noggins (HEADS)
but that doesn't make the catch any less fun.
As a Gaming family of 5 our household is full of Pc's , Xbox 360's , Xbox one x's and s's ,
My mother evening has an Atari boxed at her Home
We Play so many games with my Eldest lad loving (world of tanks)
My middle son loving games such as C.O.D modern warfare
My youngest boy and his Massive Building skills on Minecraft , his Fnaf (1 through 5 ) . Scrap Machanic , TF2 , portal , portal 2 , unturned and many many more
Then there is my partner who loves a good old bash at Hitman , sins of the solar empire ,Alien isolation , all the Resident evils , Silent Hills , soul reaver and many more to mention
And myself the only female in the Household massive fan of Arma3 , Rocket League , PUBG , Left for dead 2 , Ark , So many games I could go on forever .
But i want to go through 10 of the best Video Game Easter Eggs Ever found in Games.
So lets begin
1: Doom 2 – shooting John Romero in the face :
This classic FPS (first-person shooter) sequel features a Secret ending that we can only discover
by shooting the End final boss in the face, then walking through it . On the other side of this
grim scene, we discover the head of John Romero on a post
The game also plays a sound backwards of Romero growling “To win the game you must kill me,
John Romero!”
2: Dead Rising ( Jills Sandwiches)
Now this is an easter egg that many of you will already know but still has to go into my top 10
In this Capcom’s original horror Resident Evil, The Main character
Jill Valentine is nearly killed when she gets herself trapped in a room with a
lowering ceiling.
Barry Burton rescues her just in nick of time, though, exclaiming:
“You were almost a Jill sandwich!” while looking at the hilariously named burger joint.
"Jills Sandwiches" Very clever and never fails to disappoint me.
3: Borderlands 2 – cavern of the creepers
Amongst the labyrinth of mining tunnels, In the Caustic Caverns area,
We can find a hidden room filled with creepers, from Minecraft.
There are also a few Minecraft blocks that can be smashed to reveal loot and useful items
(including Minecraft heads for your character to put on ). My Youngest son absolutely loves this .
4 : Portal – the lair of Doug Rattman
The science centre holds disturbing secrets, but persistent players of Valve’s
brilliant first-person puzzler could discover the best. Hidden away around Portal and its sequel
are secret areas, walls are covered in mass amounts of drawings and notes. It’s all the doing of
scientist Doug Rattman who became trapped in the lab deep underground and slowly went insane. crazy and senile One of Doug Rattman's scripts on the wall is the famous saying “the cake is a lie”.
5: in Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (play as Indiana Jones)
A Lego Indiana Jones game makes sense from a marketing standpoint,
but Indy’s blocky adventure was only just about set to come out for release when this Lego Star Wars collection hit all the major shops . However in the awesome game , you can get early access to your favorite indy in his then-upcoming game that’s in the Star Wars movie room. After watching the commercial for his game, Indy becomes a playable character
for the entire Lego Star Wars mythos,
Indiana Jones is the only character that can not be unlocked by just progressing through the game,To get Indiana Jones as a playable character, go the Bonus Room & watch the trailer for the Lego Indiana Jones game when the video has finished go the store where you can buy Indiana Jones for 50.000 studs .. Thank me later for this ,
6 : Hitman: Absolution
During the mission 'End of the Road' you can kill a man in the desert or let him live the choice is completely yours
However, if you scare off and shoot the five vultures down that are flying in the air above,
an ice cream truck will come along and run him over. thats cold
7: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Now I am a massive star wars fan whether it be the movies, games ,
I am a Star Wars costumer so anything to do with this I watch closely at everything
During the game you'll come across a figure frozen in carbonite.
but Look really closely and you'll see it's actually Jar Jar Binks,
who's been frozen I cant get my head round that one unless it's because he is a hated character
Fetching loved this one ,
8: Left 4 Dead 2 - Jukebox plays Portal's "Still Alive"
Being a Portal fan this went down well in my books this game never seizes to amaze me
So how about playing some awesome music while zombie slaying ,Well you can Left 4 Dead 2's jukebox--located in the Parish campaign--
You'll find it in a cafe.
Scroll through the songs, and you'll eventually
come across Portal's "Still Alive." Very Fitting
After doing a lot of research today on Easter Eggs i can safely say there are so many out there I need to play all games and personally look for them.
This concludes my top 8 wtf!! Easter Eggs in video games
