Super Cyclone Amphan is approaching the coast, All steamers and launches are urged to stay close to shore

Super Cyclone Amphan is gaining momentum to hit to the coastal area. The experiences of previous cyclones are not very pleasant for Bangladesh. After each cyclone, the people of the coastal areas of Bangladesh have suffered a lot. Danger signal number 10 has been raised in the coastal and its surrounding areas. All fishing boats, small and large launches, have been instructed not to operate this time.

The Corona virus pandemic and this sudden cyclone have left the people of Bangladesh worried. The number of people infected with the Corona virus is setting new records every day. In addition, if this cyclone hits and cause damage to life and property, it will be very difficult to handle in this situation. However, in this post, I will share some of the pictures I took during the launch crossing on the river Padma.

Bangladesh is a land of rivers. There are many big and small rivers in this country. In Bangladesh, launch is an important an popular ride. People like this transport due to low cost and more comfortable. But many launches have sunk due to storms at different times, there have been many casualties as well. This is especially happens in the summer.

History says, during such powerful cyclones, many launches have been involved in accidents. One of the reasons is that the sailors do not have the correct information and also not follow the signals of the met office. Now, the technology is very fast. So, all sailors should obey the signals of the met office properly. Otherwise, major accidents can happen at any time.

The Bangladesh government has taken good initiatives to deal with this big storm. More than two million people have been evacuated from coastal areas. Hopefully this initiative will give a very effective result.

Last but not the least, we all hope and wish so that this storm can't do us much harm. And if it goes the other way, it will be difficult to handle both Corona virus and cyclone together.
