Pernit ne to speak today on LIGHT THE DESTROYER OF CAPTIVITY

Captivity or imprisonment is never a pleasant experience. It brings restriction, loss of freedom, inability to decide for oneself, inability to plan for oneself but left at the mercy of the captor.

Isaiah 60:1 (Amplified Bible)
Arise (from the depression and prostration n which circumstances have kept you-rise to a new life). Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you!

Glory Alleluia. Your light has come. You have no reason to remain in captivity. In John chapter 1 verse 4 and 5, Jesus is Life that lights the light of men and darkness had never overpowered Him. Captivity ends when light comes in.

Captivity is a closure of one's activity. Ni captor is lenient enough to give freedom but God commanded light in Genesis 1:3 and it appeared setting an order in the day. Light gives your life order.

As i study and meditate, it occured to me to search out by the Spirit of God the causes of darkness and these came to my heart.

CAUSES OF CAPTIVITY

1. Breach of agreement.
   God is a covenant keeping God and expects us to keep to our side of the covenant. In Judges 6, the Israelites became captive when they abandoned God.

2. Ignorance
   Bible makes us understand in Hosea 4:6 that people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge. What you don't know you can't access.

3. Words of mouth
   In Proverbs 10:14, the mouth of a fool brings destruction. Many have used the words of their mouth to make ensnaring decrees on themselves and others.

4. Sin
   In Proverbs 14:34, sin is a reproach. It sets embargo, restriction and captivity.

7 EFFECTS OF CAPTIVITY

1. It spoils
2. It takes away peace
3. It brings sickness
4. Pain, shame and regret
5. Transfer of credit to the captor
6. Stagnancy and backwardness
7. Transfer of blessing to the captor

Light: Way out of captivity

Jesus, the light is the way. When you walk in the light you will jump and will not be afraid, but when you walk in the dark you will grope with your hands, dash your feet and be afraid.

Accept Jesus (the Light) and live in Him. Peace be unto you
