Money Heist Season 4 - "The second any blood is shed, we’ll no longer be Robin Hood, but just a bunch of plain motherfucking punks"

The overmilking of this series is unstoppable. Money Heist began as a cool action series from Spain, where a group of talented robbers elaborated a plan to take control of the Royal Mint of Spain and print their own money. The first 2 seasons were very cool with likable characters and it certainly kept a good pace throughout those episodes.

Season 2 provided a proper ending to this story and it was one of my favorite series from those years, but then thanks to the massive international success they decided to continue with the story of these robbers and find the way to have a new massive criminal act. This began in season 3 and this is when the quality of the show begins to decrease.

It was tremendously obvious that season 3 was only created to overmilk a successful product, and this milking was very ambitious because not only is there a season 4 but after seeing it I can say there will certainly be a season 5. So, a show that was quite great and with a proper ending after 2 seasons will now have at least 5 seasons...

If you haven't watched season 3 then be careful because I can't explain the story of this season without mentioning some facts from the previous year. In season 3 they decided to rob the Bank of Spain and this was their first mistake... have in mind these people are criminals so why would they risk their now wealthy lives after the first successful robbery and try to do everything once again? Well, because they are planning to force the hand of the government into releasing one of their members who got caught. There is no way this member can give info about their whereabouts but they decided to take on this massive operation because you see, they are good friends and love each other... So silly...

Now these criminals took control over the Bank of Spain, last season finished in a very intense moment where the leader of the criminals thinks her romantic partner is killed, but this was a trick of the police to try and destabilize him. In response, the criminals decide to start acting as if this was an all-out war against the police.

Their goal is now to simply escape the bank with all the gold they are melting from the reserves. As the story progresses there will be conflicts inside the group, the police will be playing their cards accordingly, there are also a few moments of comedy and more than one twist.

There are clearly good things about this season but for me, it was the worst of all. Besides, there is the fact that the producers don't even try to hide the fact they are overmilking the show, which is very clear in part because of all of the scenes from before the robberies that didn't add that much to the current series nor to the development of the characters.

The part that I disliked the most happens right after the biggest possible spoiler of this season. So, in order to avoid screwing the series for those that haven't watch it, imagine this. You have an enemy in front of you, you also have like 5 allies with you with all sort of guns ready to shoot and kill, you are expecting your enemy to do something so you can react quickly and neutralize him, so when your enemy does exactly what you were expecting, instead of killing him in less than one second you and the 5 allies begin to scream "nooo" and then begin to shoot him without hitting the enemy not even once even though he was very near in the first place. The enemy simply runs, does a twirl in mid-air, continues to run and escapes... now wtf was that? This was so ridiculous I couldn't even believe it. There are other silly moments but this one was absolutely the worst of all.

The writers certainly lost their moment of brightness they had while creating the first 2 seasons. The show isn't as good as it once was and I would only recommend it to people who are just looking for action without caring too much about the seriousness of the plot. The first 2 seasons were amazing, the third season was a downgrade and this one was outrightly disappointing. Besides, the story isn't done yet, at least one season is left.

The best

• The likable cast is back with good moments but their performances are getting weary. Several moments even though there were yells didn't feel intense, the same happened with the "emotional" energetic moments.

The worst

• Extremely silly moments thanks to the writers.
• Too many things were exaggerated.
• The acting was self-indulgent, the way some of them spoke didn't feel quite right. In the first 2 seasons, everything was smoother and authentic. It felt like they were trying to imitate themselves.
