We Found Some Great Deals!
We had a very busy weekend. We got a lot done in the new office and we managed to have a fun date night too.
As you can see from the thumbnail of this blog, we got the tapestry hung. I took a close up of the clips we used so you can see what they are and how well they worked. I am so happy we went with this option.
It was not that expensive either. The rod was about $13.00 from Meyer's. I got the clips there too. They came in a single pack for about $8.00. I used the same rod but without the clips for the blackout curtain in the room as well. You can spot that in the grouping of photo's below.
The steel shelving unit is 5 ft - 14" x 36" / 36 x 91 cm.
In the above photo, you can see the progress we have made in my new office. (I should mention that Hubby did fix the floor where it needed to be fixed.) I spent a lot of time in the garage where my office is now, sorting through the bottom half of the book case. It used to be packed full of stuff. Even paperwork, that I no longer need so I'm glad that stuff is in the trash now.
I've started filling the new steel shelf in the office. We got a great deal on this shelving unit too. We paid $49.00 for it at Ollie's. I think it was Lowe's that had a smaller one just like this for $89.00. I may end up getting another one of these later for the garage.
The table was not my first choice for the vlogging area of the room. However, we already had it in the garage so I decided to use it. I plan to get a black table cloth to go on it. If I can't find one I like, I will buy material and we will make one.
The baskets are 15" x 13" x 10" / 38 x 33 x 25.4 cm.
Above are some of the good deals we got. You already know about the curtain rod and clips. I only included that photo so you can see the detail of the rod.
I got the picture frames at a K-Mart that is closing here. The entire store is on clearance so I got the frames for 25% off. I am aware that they are yet another shade of purple but I know where they are going. I they they will work perfectly without being overkill.
Now, lets talk about my grey baskets for the office. I spotted them at Ollie's and I got one heck of a deal on them! I paid $6.99 for each of my 3 baskets. I seen them at either Meyer or Target for about $20.00 each! So, I got 3 for the price of 1 somewhere else. They are good sturdy baskets too and I love that they will help my book case have a nice clean look.
Hubby and I have not had a decent date night in awhile. Since Valentines Day just passed and we have been working hard, we decided it was time to have some fun together too. We had dinner and then went to the movies. I totally neglected to take a photo of Hubby's dinner but he had chicken strips and a side of mac and cheese.
The food you see in the above photo is our appetizer and my dinner. My Piggy Mac Grilled Cheese was divine but also sinful because I know the calories are off the charts. We don't often go to Scotty's Brewhouse though so I figured I could take the hit. I have no regrets.
We went to see Winchester at the movies and it was really good. I've been fascinated by that house since I first learned about it and I hope to take the tour one day. Both the house and it's history are bizarre.
Many people were there to see the Black Panther. We want to see that too but we will wait for the masses to see it before we go in a couple of weeks.
There may be a future Market Friday from our movie night, possibly even this Friday. We'll see, I actually managed to get enough photographs for two Market Friday's.
And that wraps up our action packed weekend where we got a lot done and had fun too. I have much more to get done today and I should be getting to it soon... If I can ever pull myself away from Steemit.
I will make my way around to your posts as I take breaks from packing up the rest of my book shelf and moving it up to the new office. I need all of the reasons I can get to take a break from that! (It's no fun carrying all of that upstairs but it may help me work off that dinner.)

I love the hanging in your office! Purple and shades thereof are my favourite too! I saw a documentary years ago on the Winchester house. I would love to see the movie! A really crazy story...
I'm glad my daughter suggested the color. I've always liked it but I was not sure what shade to go with. I'm really happy with the way the room is coming together. I earned it after so many years in the garage. lol
I want to tour that house even more after seeing the movie but I won't be going to California any time soon. I've got Hubby interested in it too though so its on our radar.
The tapestry looks really wonderful ! I could imagine a painting of mine on my wall now... ^_^

It's on my wish list for sure but it will be awhile before we can travel that far. I will document every part of it they let me when I do though. :D

They closed down all of our Kmarts around here unfortunately. We do have Ollies. I hate that online shopping is shutting down so many businesses. I really enjoy shopping for many things in the store. The deals you can find sometimes are amazing, plus you don't have to pay for shipping.
This is the 2nd round of K-Marts they are closing here. I'm not sure if we have any left now or not. It is a shame.
I found out over the summer that the flea markets I used to love going to are all but shut down now. There used to be 3 huge outdoors flea markets that were teaming with sellers but very few of those 'shops' are open now.
I had not been in a few years so I didn't realize just what online shopping had done to them.
So many places are shutting down. It's hard. I just don't enjoy shopping like I used to though. College made me super cheap. Plus I was robbed at gun point in 2008 when I went Christmas shopping, so it changed my opinion about going out by myself. And a lot of people don't like shopping with me lol. I am a deal seeker for real. I could spend a long time in a store searching for deals.
This somehow reminds me of paper works I have to go through too that aren't needed that taking space in our cabinet. Looking good with the progress in the office. Hoping you had an awesome day as well @debralee. :) Those two owls are just looking so sweet!
