in Newcomers' Community2 years ago

Hi steemians, it's a new day and I'm wishing you all a happy and a glorious Wednesday.
I'm so glad that I've done my achievements task 1-5.4. And I must say that it's indeed an impacting one. Because I've really learnt a lot about steemit. I must say a very big thank you to all the Newcomers community for their continuous effort, guild lines and support to make the newcomers community firm and stable. Thanks once again.

Question 1

DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW VOTING AND CURATION WORKS ON STEEMIT?

Yes I totally understand how users votes and Curation works. From my recent research, I observed that there is a pool reward system where all the rewards are stored, and from the prize pool, users gets their rewards. only good and Plagiarism free content attracts good votes and reward.
The reward is split 50/50 between the author and the curators, and the rewards distributed from the prize pool system are based on the amount of effective steem power present in your wallet.

VOTES

We have 2 types of votes here on steemit, viz;

  • Upvote (like); This is the green arrow pointing upwards. This is called an upvote because is just like "like" button on other social media. A user can only upvote your content when your content is good and interesting. You only gets rewards when those with good amount of effective steem power in their wallet upvote your post based on a certain % vote. They are called the Curators, and you are called the author. You can likely be an author or a curator. We have the voting mana which is just like an energy meter, it goes down each time you upvote a post, and replenishes back by 20% every day. The Voting percentage is visible for users with 500 effective steem power and above.

  • Downvote (dislike): This is the red arrow pointing downward. It is just like the "dislike" button on other social networks. One can downvote your post when you go against the steemit rules.

Question 2

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU VOTE A POST BEFORE 5 MINUTES MARKS AFTER POSTING?

Ech time a user post a content, the prize pool has 100% of the curation reward. As it was stated, every post rewards matures in 7days. This means that each post has a total of 7 days to get an upvote or down votes. Before the reward can be credited to your wallet. The reward is split into 50/50 between the author and curator.
If you upvote a content Within 5mins a content is posted, a certain portion of the curation reward goes to the prize pool. This will make you loose a certain percentage of your curation reward.
If you vote a right after a post is published, 100% of the curation reward will be kept in the reward pool. Though 20% reward from the prize pool goes to the curator in the first minute, leaving the remaining 80% in the rewards pool.
After 2 minutes, 40% will go to the curator and 60% remaining in the prize pool.
After 3 minutes, 60% goes to the curator and 50% remains in the prize pool. That's exactly how it continues till it gets to 5 minutes where the curator receives 100% of the curation reward.

Question 3

WHO WILL YOU VOTE FOR STEEM WITNESS AND WHY?
I will vote for @steemchiller for steemworl.org because the tool he produced has really helped me a lot in several ways. Like the other day, I was able to use the steem world.org to recover my friend's account that was stolen. Indeed the steem world.org has indeed helped me a lot.

Question 4

WHICH COMMUNITY WILL YOU JOIN ON STEEMIT AND WHY

  • The very first community that always comes to my mind if the Newcomers community, this is one of the best community so far, because this community is one compulsory community that will teach you from scratch how steemit works.
  • Secondly the steemit crypto academy. Though I don't really have much ideas about cryptocurrencies but I'm very much interested in crypto, and I believe joining and writing about cryptocurrencies will help me learn faster.
  • Thirdly, the Promosteem community. Steemit is a very nice social network that's worth telling people about, I will like to join this community, because I want to promote steem all over my country.

Thanks to everyone that stopped by to read my post.
