Five Years into the Future

Happy 30th birthday, bebilog :)

I am writing this on April 11, 2018. Roughly two weeks before our 1 year and 9 month anniversary. Hopefully, when you read this letter, we are still together and we reached our 7 year mark. Maybe, married. Or maybe, financially and emotionally ready enough to start our own family. I'm not dismissing the fact that maybe, 5 years from now, we may have gone our own separate ways. And I extremely hope, we don't reach that point because honestly, even if we always had our indifferences, petty, and big fights, I saw my future with you in the simplest and happiest way possible.

If we are still together, I want this letter to be a reminder of how many external and internal struggles we shared but still, WE SURVIVED. Congratulations to both of us!!! I hope that you still have your chubby cheeks and that I still get to hug you from behind. I hope that I can still kiss you cheek to cheek and squeeze your arms like it's a stuffed toy. I hope that I already am a pro in playing DotA 2 and that I still get to play it with you. I hope that we already completed our cooking sets and that we have our own kitchen :))

If we are still together, I hope that I am celebrating this special day with you, our hands holding, and our smiles are as genuine as ever. I pray that you have a good health because you're quite stubborn taking care of yourself. I hope that by this time we stopped hurting each other. I hope that you can see me as the only girl in your life (aside from our future daughter/s or do we have a child already?)

BUT if in an unprecedented, saddest, and most unfortunate situation, made us separate, then let this letter be also a reminder of our time together. Scrap the bad ones, just remember the good times. Remember that I love you so much and that this love I have for you is the strongest emotion I have felt in my entire existence. With you, I learned that love is not just a feeling, it's a decision. Feelings are fleeting, but choosing to stay with you is a decision. If we had broken up by this time, whether you gave up on me or I gave up on you or we both gave up on each other, remember that for me, what we have was real. I hope in my heart that we don’t reach that point but if this is how life played out, I'm just wishing you a happy and healthy life. I hope you find peace in your heart. I know you will be a great father even if they're not my children. I know you will still be a cunning partner even if it’s not me who you end up with.

Ultimately, what I really want to tell you is that 5 years from now (2018-2023), whether we stayed together or fell apart, I wish that you still feel in your heart the kind of love I have for you. Happy birthday, baby.

I saw @erangvee’s post and I suddenly remember the letter I sent to myself 2 years ago. It is to be delivered two years from now. I cannot remember what I wrote but I bet it would be fun when I can finally read it on 2020.

On that note, I made another letter but this time it's not for me. This will be sent 5 years and 8 months and to be delivered by FutureMe.org. Some edits has been made.
