Humility - My Favorite Subject
Philippians 2:5-8
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory;
but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other
better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every
man also on the things of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in
Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not
robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon
him the form of a servant, and was made in the
likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled
himself, and became obedient unto death, even the
death of the cross.
Humility is a precondition to faith in Jesus Christ. Humility means to deny oneself to the needs of others - to put the needs of others above oneself. Humility does not mean devaluing oneself. Humility means to submit oneself to the authority of God. Our attitude should be as the same as Jesus and based on careful thinking about how Jesus thought of himself in relation with the Father and with others in the world. Jesus was God on earth, yet He always submitted and humbled himself to the Father. Jesus, the King of kings made himself a servant of men and was willing to let go of status, honor, glory and authority to take up the cross.
1 Peter 5:5-7
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the
elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another,
and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the
proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand
of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for
you.
A humble servant of others is observant to the needs of others and is not concerned about who gets the credit. Deny oneself and submit to God...
Luke 9:23
23 And he said to them all, If any man will come
after me, let him deny himself, and take up his
cross daily, and follow me.
Matthew 20:25-28
25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye
know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise
dominion over them, and they that are great exercise
authority upon them.
26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever
will be great among you, let him be your minister;
27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be
your servant:
28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered
unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom
for many.
Pray that Jesus will humble you. When we realize that even our humility is a gift from God and that all our opportunities to serve others are gifts from God, we will humbly serve others without worrying about the credit.

Good one @deathlyhorror, you are always amazing, humilty means putting others first in the place of your need. Living for other, Jesus was a perfect example. Visit my last post to read about "THE POWER OF LIVING HOPE."
THE GOSPEL IS A WEAPON GIVEN TO US BY GOD TO FIGHT A GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH.
Thank you for taking us on this subject. You did justice to it
Really good
Great message brother @deathlyhorror! It have been long you post and I have missed your post lol. God love the humble and hated the proud. James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.
That's beautiful, humility is an important character as a believer,we must learn to be humble,James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
A proud man person will experience a repeling force from God, while a humble man gets attracted more to God. Humilty is exaltation in disguise(To humble yourself is to be exalted by God)
Humility is a cloak we should all aspire to wear yet is too often cast aside. Lovely post.
I haven't treated this topic serious until I saw that Christ Jesus in this earthly work place a high premium on the subject.. Being humble speak highly of what mans heart is: loving, meek, understanding, wise, open to receive, unboastfull, servicehood, stewardship and lot more. If Christ places exaltation and greatness after and humble heart the its so.
He indeed resist the proud but give grace to those that have their boast in him.
One important thing of note is that rejecting Christ(who is full of grace and of an unending mercies) on the ground of our ability is being proud. See how this scripture defines the humble one's
Psa 34:2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
Let your boast be in the fact that Christ for you sins, sickness, lacks, suffering and much more ; rejoice and make your boast on the fact that by his resurrection you and your union with him in faith YOU NOW HAVE:
1.God for a father
Rejoice.

Good post, we must remain humble.
If, being God, he became man, we as men must remain humble. Blessings
