A general update of the gardens

Well, it is a new year and I've seen other gardeners and homesteaders already doing their start of year videos and posts. Some have already started preparing their gardens. One of the gardners I follow, but doesn't do a lot of videos, posted a video showing images of his garden throughout 2018. Even just posting a weekly photo can really show some changes, so I have decided to make the effort to take at least one weekly photo of my gardens, so that I can try to do a end of year slide show of the gardens.

Right now, the gardens don't look like much. The only work I have done on them is to cut the raspberry bushes down so I won't get caught with another false spring growth spurt, like happened last year. All the early growth and green everywhere ended up with a low amount of raspberries.

In a few weeks, my parents will be down to help me get started, which won't be a lot of activity, but hopefully enough to give me a head start when I need to start planting. I guess I should have also posted an image of my seed growing area, since I now moved it to a different place in my house.

Anyway here they are.

Front Micro Garden

Tomato sticks still standing. I'll need to mix in last year's dead plants with the dirt and probably add another bag of compost.

Side Micro Garden

Lots of work here. I really need to come up with another solution for the strawberries or anything I plant to grow in front of the raspberry plants. I think some raised garden areas are needed.

Grilling Deck / Container Garden

I'm not sure if I will grow anything on the deck this year. I do have some plans for the containers plants.

Flower Garden /

The flower garden is a mess. I planted some grape plants I got from my parents, but I have to deal with the holly bushes that just won't go away.

Also, it looks like the tulips are going to try, once again, to grow.
