One Mouth in Beijing ... it's simply not enough. 北京多食記

The other day I shared One Night in Beijing, so here you go with this new post about Beijing's food. Even for me, who's got a Chinese mouth, one mouth is simply not enough. We eat Chinese food all day in Taiwan too, but food in Beijing, most of the time, is still quite an adventure for my mouth! Here I am going to share with you two restaurants and two take-aways! Enjoy!

北京的吃，總是令我這南方的嘴頗為懷念。中國菜，那只是個籠統的稱法，其實吃的東西那真是天南地北，四處不同。當然，兩岸的差異，或許也是造成我味蕾刺激的來源之一。烤鴨，涮羊肉，串燒，北京特色小吃等等，我都挺喜歡的，在台灣也不是太容易吃到，就算吃到，也不太對勁。北京的夜，也得要有吃來裝襯，才能完美是吧？今天咱們就吃個夠，吃到一張嘴不夠吃吧！菜色介紹我就不寫中文，留給各位娛樂了！

北京餛飩侯 Wanton Hou

Wonton (pork flavor)

Noodle Soup with Shredded Pork and Preserved Vegetable

Here comes the small dishes! This one is Beijing's specialty - Jie Mo Dun, Mustardy Chinese cabbage. Very strong flavor! Love it!

Fried shredded potatoes (Oh I love this one! very common in mainland China but not at all in Taiwan)

姚記炒肝 Yao's Stewed Liver

Another famous Beijing dish is the Beijing style stewed liver. Sound scary? Only if you are no fan of Chinese food. But for this stewed liver, I am no fan of it. Yao's is one of the famous brand for stewed liver, but they have much more to offer! Guess who was here too? Find him yourself!

We had of course the stewed liver, Old Beijing Noodles with Soy Bean Paste (another famous Beijing food!), cold noodles (rich flavor, I love it), barbecue lamb skewers ... Authentic!

Alternatively, if you prefer to take away and enjoy food in your cosy hotel room like us ... there are still tons of great food for you to choose from!

Take Away Baozi (Steamed Bun) and Roasted Ruck! It's Beijing!

This is a famous chain store in Beijing. Great food

You don't always have to go to Quan-Ju-De to get great Peking Ducks. Many stores offer competitive ducks in terms of deliciousness and price. :)

Oh, I am so full right now... Gotta go out and roam in Beijing streets ...
