Recently in my school work, I was introduced into the world of textiles. My first foray was to produce an A4 size design with the theme: fertility.

Below are the following steps necessary in producing the artwork.

STEP 1

The first step in producing any textile graphics work on paper is having prepared fermented colours readily available. Secondly one has to stretch the paper for the work(would make a post later on how to stretch)

STEP 2

Already having a theme, the next step was to create a design , that is, creating the unit for the design.

In creating my design, I made use of floral and the universal depiction of a woman carrying a baby. I create a flower about to bloom with a pregnant woman inside the confines of the flower.

STEP 3

After having my design, I then decided on the kind of pattern I want to use for my design; half drop, slide, full drop etc. I used half drop and slide

STEP 4
The design is then repeated in each boxes all over the paper. This is done by tracing.

STEP 5

The next step now is to start laying the colours. The colour scheme for this design is achromatic (black and white)

STEP 6
After successfully laying the colours, the last step is to frame the design.. For my design, I frame it black and white.

Well done! Upvote!

Thanks man.... Really appreciate

At step 5 I was looking for the woman carrying the baby... Only to get mind blewn by the flipped design. Haha

It was the way the photo was taken... The original design is actually meant to be the other way round

Noticed that, only a little bit late :).
Well made though!
