Sankeien Garden
Is a huge historic Garden covering over 400 acres, containing several buildings of Cultural Significance. These historic buildings have been transported to the Garden from all over Japan, and include a 14th Century 3 Storey Pagoda.

The garden includes Bamboo groves, bridges, waterfalls and ponds, featuring the wonder of flowering Cherry Blossoms in April, and thousands of Pink Lotus spring into flower in July and August.

The whole property was a private Garden for a wealthy Silk Trader in the 1800's.

I was lucky enough to visit during a recent holiday in Japan.

The Hara Family, lived in this property until the early 1900's, when it was then transferred to public ownership. The house below features over 50 interconnected rooms with Tatami mat flooring. The is a immense lawn and huge pond surrounding the home.

I paid to experience a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony, inside the old family home
