President Trump's "shithole countries" remark has reopened focus on a March 2016 meeting that Trump had with the Congressional Black Caucus when the president was taken aback by how the lawmakers didn't personally know HUD Secretary Ben Carson and was surprised that cutting welfare programs would hurt their white constituents...that's just the best, no?

It's funny how these stories always are prefaced (rather quickly I might add ) by the phrase "according to people in the room".
But hey, who am I to argue with the "undeniable reality".
I feel that Trump's erratic behaviour is causing many heart stopping moments for his aides. Wonder how long this circus show will continue.

I appreciated the point you made about dissonance not really changing the rules in people minds. It's a very interesting angle on the matter and an important lesson.
On a side note, Trump is basically a real life Pierce Hawthorn from the TV series Community, just less funny and quite scarier. What you described sounds like a gag from that particular study room, just with a bigger table involved.
