Not really. If I applied for a loan and it asked me for my income I could put down I get XXX number of dollars per year from rental income. That would be the truth because that's what I charge. What it doesn't mean is that I will actually get it if I have to evict someone or someone just breaks a lease and moves out. If you have to evict someone that takes time so you lose even more, then you have to go in and remodel, advertise to find another suitable renter. That is all tax deductible against the stated income. One building they were talking about was for the year 2017, his first year in the presidency....wouldn't surprise me at all if he had plenty of people moving out with as much hate spewed towards him and how it reflects on those renting from him and the backlash involved. That doesn't stop him from honestly answering the question of how much income one will generate as you are allowed to state your projected income. This is one reason, as I have come across it once many years back, some lenders won't accept rental income as a secure source as there are to many variables involved.

Yikes is right. When being a landlord you have to be good at it, it's not always an easy task.
Taking the tax records to compare the loan records? That's serious investigation there I don't know how the statements to these documents might implicate Trump because he'd still feel like he's not done anything so bad, but he's trying to avoid not paying taxes, no?
