Im fine with all of these except 6. Though 6 is most appaling becouse as long as the 2nd amendment exists (and all the other options could involve revoking it) the level of regulation currently in place is inacceptabl. If something is a right, you dont get to withhold it from felons, substance users or "the mentaly ill". Thats why democracies have voting booths in prison during elections. Oh and, dont get me started on weapons which are not guns. It says arms, not firearms, and at that time it was common for weapons WAY more desasterous than any gun (you can actualy carry, if you want to call certain weapons of uboots or military planes guns, thats fine, back at that time, canons and battleships were indeed privatly owned. Any idea how many people you could kill with one shot to another ship with a canon? Potentialy everyone on it.)
Actually David, think about this:
Give teachers a gun. They can enforce discipline at gunpoint. With greater discipline, you get better grades.
Give guns to the students. They can get A’s by encouraging their teachers at gunpoint.
Obviously, it’s a win-win situation! Improved behavior and better grades. Now we can get rid of Betsy DeVos. The entire educational system has been fixed.
And don’t forget the big bonus: guns “in the school to protect from potential grizzlies” (DeVos)
Come to think of it, why don’t we just give everybody a gun? That should take care of global overpopulation.
There is nothing a gun can’t fix.
😬
That's so true!! It can totally fix anything! It'll resolve any argument, all debt, world hunger, poverty, poor parenting, over-parenting, dental problems, headaches, inability to find something to watch on tv. Anything!
😂
First of all that teacher should be arrested.
By law only licensed citizens meaning certified by the government should hold guns but not in classes
If we say the students should come to school with guns, then we should be ready for maybe I should say: corruption, cultism, abuse, harassment and all other worse situations too numerous to mention
in a higher dimension.
And when all these comes to reality no body should complain because we brought the idea....
I discuss that in the video but sadly because of how California's negligent firearms discharge law is written, I wouldn't hold my breath for charges against the teacher
The actions of this teacher were reckless and probably preventable with common sense gun safety practices. I can already see some guns will go missing. Remember the pilot Lubitz who intentionally crashed his plane killing like 200 passengers along with himself, well I envision some disgruntled teacher using his gun to massacre the kids. It is so unusual that we would say no way but teachers are only human. There is bound to be 1 teacher on the verge of a mental breakdown. Most likely school shooters will avoid the armed resistance by targeting students at bus stations and other unsecured locations. It is also possible that the school shooters may not be deterred at all, logic being that students are unarmed teacher are armed, all they have to do is target the teachers the moment they see them. Remember the assassin has the advantage as he knows the time and place he will strike. There need to be policies to address student concerns long before they are broken people who may do terrible things.
Common sense gun practices? The teacher is also a part time police officer. If even THEY can't do the right thing, how can we expect a full school of armed teachers will? It's laughable
These teachers were extremely reckless, but I don't really see arming teachers as a negative. Yes, there will be reckless teachers, and in a perfect world, no would need to arm themselves for selfdefense. Arming teachers will not prevent school shootings but can reduce the severity. It may be the unpopular opinion, but arming teachers hypothetical could reduce school shooting casualties.
I have not a clue , don't people have to have a permit or licence for a firearm anyway did this guy have a permit or have a background check , or teachers immune from this
David have you seen this? Waiting for legislation to pass is something we don't have enough life span left for. Taking away everybody's guns will never happen. This is cheap and can be in place in a few days: http://shelterinplace.com/
Wow. Yeah, this guy should be arrested or at least fired. I guess he must have failed gun safety 101? What happened to the whole "Always treat a gun like it is loaded" bit? To me, that's enough grounds right there. Simple basic stuff. Bringing a loaded gun to school for safety reasons and have a concealed carry permit? Fine. Waving it around a classroom for whatever reason without unloading it first and double checking it? That's just stupid. I know you can say it was a mistake, but it's a mistake - as we see in this case - like forgetting that a red light means stop. People can easily get hurt, and you are definitely at fault for it. If he only gets fired, he should be thankful for it. He may have meant well, but he screwed up on step 1.
Realistically what are our options here:
Any other suggestions?

Nice shootin' Tex!
"Tex" is not someone I want armed in the classroom.

Does the teacher has a gun? In what purpose?
