Not a tasteem post - Sushi Zanmai

I think it's time for me to take a step back, relax and have something nice for myself then having too much headache worrying for what is happening in to the #blockchain. I've done all I can as a member in the community and voted for the witnesses I like(matter of fact one of them I don't like).

Finding food in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya is easy. Finding good Japanese food and reasonable price, it's not. That however, Zanmai has the idea of doing it nice and at the right price. So happen, the kids are very much of Japanese food fan. So, here we go.

Zanmai journey begins with a simple lady finger and a cup of cold green tea since the weather outside is extremely hot. Tea is refreshing, and the lady finger is very crunchy and sweet with the Goma sauce(sesame salad dressing).

I'm not a squid guy, but for some reason I just accidentally ordered this instead of something else. Fortunately, it tasted pretty ok. I don't feel the WILD in it, but rather decent seafood taste from this BBQ squid, the rings are pretty nice to chew, not too hard but definitely need some teeth strenght to go with it.

I did not try this since I'm on abstain. According to the kids, the meat is nice and tender. I'd took some of the teriyaki sauce, sweet and salty. I think I'll like it. I'll come back for this after Easter Sunday!

The little guy is having his tamago, egg sushi. According to him, the egg is not nice, but he like the rice and the seaweed. I took over the tamago and ate it, well it's a little sweet. It's just the way it is, but somehow it doesn't impress this little man.

My all time favorite in any Japanese restaurant has been this, the Chawanmushi, steamed egg. I liked the combination of the shitake mushroom, the flavored crab stick in it, making the egg taste somewhat unique.

And there is a shrimp in it! Which caught my surprise! I thought normally they put chicken breast? No wonder the egg tasted so much like seafood?!

And, what do I like about salmon fish head? Deep sea fish doesn't taste too bad if you bake them properly, and I always choose plain bake with salt, that will really bring the fish taste out rather than cover it with teriyaki sauce. Take a look at the amount of meat, you'll probably have to eat 30 pieces of sushi before you can consume that amount of fish. As soon as I put my chopstick into it start tearing it apart, the fish oil start squirting out making the fish extremely juice and easy to go down.

Ordered somemore garlic fried rice to go with all those fish, squid, and chicken together to make sure our stomach are filled. On an unrelated note, save those garlic slices and put them into the chawanmushi steam egg, they blend together marvelously good! Did I make you jaw drop and squirt your saliva glen? I certainly hope so.

Finally, this post were not posted in #tasteem because it's considered an international franchise. All I can say is, I enjoyed the food really much and looking forward to revisit again, and I hope you enjoy reading too.
