[Free write] When Steem to the moon

It's been more than a year since Steem moon. Many of my friends here had left the platform. Some power down and took some steem, sold them and never came back. They're like vanished the horizon.

However, there's another batch of slightly optimistic quitter(let's just call the opposite of doer), who left their posting key with me. Originally, we have a machine who can bot all the upvotes with only posting key. Technically, that's an emulator of "login and vote" machine, and we were doing great when #steem to the moon. Everybody was happy as they're receiving their curation rewards.

Looking back is an easy thing to do. We're back to earth buddy. Those quitter who left their posting key with me never come back and ask for it anymore, and it's this way for more than a year, close to two now. Initially, when we saw the moon, it's so close, so close that we already can see the detail of the moon surface, and then suddenly we're back to earth. Oh wait, let me rephrase that, we were never near the moon at all. We're just sitting in a ship, putting on a VR goggle and imagining we're heading to the moon.

Let me check back, during the moon era, not many have withdrawn their SBD/Steem. I WAS one of them originally, I did have an idea to power down, gtfo and never look back. But then after 13 weeks of power down, only I realize I'm still on a fucken sinking ship. Good thing about this virtual landing experience is, I start to love playing games, start to enjoy the virtual world of crypto more than my physical experience. It's like having bunch of placebo effect a doctor give you some sort of vitamin(even the doc knows vitamin doesn't cure flu), and after you've taken those "medication" immediately you felt so much better.

In reality, some of the accounts that I #hodl on behalf had grown substantially(over 18 months for 30% growth based on upvote), is consider a big deal. But then again, #steem value had dropped more than 90%. One of the account, back then was 100sp, the account value was $750 back then. And now the account has 130.396SP, but the estimated account value is $57.48😂

Seriously guys, if you're not ready to go burst, don't even bother to stay in with us. I'm sure many who study global economic like I do, does understand we're on a sinking boat, running around patching holes. May be someday someone spent a fortune and install 2 rocket booster on our sinking ship and send us to moon. Even that, whether the rocket can send us far enough to detach from earth orbit and "glide" us all the way to moon, would be another issue.

Till then, let's patch holes and pray. Writing this article because someone trigger me with a "good morning" message asking how's the price of #steem when they have 25SBD in their account and he still doesn't understand how much was that worth in #steem or dollar value.
