A Review about Soundgarden's Fell On Black Days
I always loved Grunge bands and "Soundgarden" was one of the best bands from that time when the Grunge genre was so popular, though I started listening to Soundgarden late, but I have heard so far was amazing and I even like to cover some of their songs in future as I feel much related to some of their songs.
This song is called "Fell on Black Days" it was written by Chris Cornell (Vocalist of the band) and it was produced by Michael Beinhorn, Soundgarden (band). It was recorded in 1993 in Seattle and released one year later in 1994 (that was also when Kurt Cobain has gone). I have to add that I think Seattle was a special place where many great artists grew up there and changed the path of music from the late '80s to the '90s. "Fell on Black Days" was performed in a time signature of 6/4 though we won't feel it as Chris also mentioned that the drums are totally straight and it makes you feel like the time signature is not unusual. Kim Thayil (Guitarist of the band) also added that the change for time signature was actually an accidental idea.
Cornell also said about this song: ("Fell on Black Days" was like this ongoing fear I've had for years ... It's a feeling that everyone gets. You're happy with your life, everything's going well, things are exciting—when all of a sudden you realize you're unhappy in the extreme, to the point of being really, really scared. There's no particular event you can pin the feeling down to, it's just that you realize one day that everything in your life is fucked!)
What I loved about this song were its Bassline and guitar lines, its vocal, and the way the solo guitar was performed was really awesome and unique. if you haven't listened to this genre for a long time, you need to spend more time to feel how it really is. cause, in the beginning, you might feel like no this is not how it has to be, but at the end, you feel like well, this is something new and it is the way it should be and it feels really good when you listen to it at that moment.
