Ever Wonder Why You Were Born Here and Now? - Here's Why!

Did you ever wonder why your were born? It is because you have a mission and the mission is called life.

Life is wonderful. It presents us with joy, pain, and the opportunity to experience many things that can fulfill our senses and cause happiness.

Many people wonder about the meaning of Life. In other words,” Why are we here, now?” I like to think that we are here simply to experience. That this existence is a period of time connected to a longer period of time and is part of a larger experience. And this experience needs you here, now.

We are unaware for the most part of the larger experience because we wear a shell called our bodies which allows us to only experience through our five senses, but at the same time, it dulls us from realizing everything we truly are. Although through spirituality we recognize that there is more.

When we drop this body, and the limitations of the five senses, we fully experienced what we are, and our relationship to everything else. These experiences during life add to the collective understanding of the universe which by its nature is curious.

For me this perspective comforts me. In life when bad things happen as they always do, we need to find ways to cope. We can certainly do this by coming up with a way to look at life that is makes sense of it all.

On this planet things occur in cycles. Life is part of a cycle and it is tied to a larger cycle. Some people think that life's mirror image is death meaning that they are opposed to one another. I think that death is a part of life. When we die, our cells and small pieces of who we are gets released back into the universe to add to the overall understanding in the universe. Without death life would not have meaning, it complete's life.

Great men and women throughout history have talked about being able to tap into this well of understanding in order to get answers to Life's challenges. Although they cannot explain where the answers are coming from, the answers keep coming when you ask the right questions.

For those of us who have constant struggles, pain and loss, life can be a challenge. People in these positions think that life is out to get them. I always say life is out to get all of us and eventually it does, so focusing on the good or the bad too much has little meaning when we all know the end of the story. The key is to make the most of it, be good to everyone, and know that there's an important reason that you were born here, in this time, and in this place.

Finally, life means welcoming the bitter with the sweet and knowing that each beautiful sunset will be followed by darkness. But also that the darkness will end and the sun will come up again. This is the beauty and mystery of Life.

Please give me your own thoughts about my ideas and what you think about life.

Very nicely said. I don't quite know what I think comes after this life but I think there's something greater than what we experience here on earth. One weird thing about thinking about death is that it actually gives me some comfort during very difficult times in life. I think to myself, "some day I will be dead, this pain / sorrow / suffering / whatever it is that's bothering me will be of no consequence". I used to be terrified of death but not anymore. Something changed in the last few years that made me truly realize my time here is finite and no single event really means that much either way.

As far as the good things go, they seem few and far between sometimes but I try to enjoy whatever I can in life, even if it's just for a minute or two. Right now I'm enjoying waking up and drinking my coffee before work. I don't want to go to work today but it was nice to sit here and read your post while waking up and enjoying my coffee. And now I'm rambling so I'll stop.

Nice writing

Thank you my friend. What nice words to read this evening. I understand your views about death and as we age we should come to terms with it more and more because it is a part of this experience. As you say, at times it can be a comforting thought. We in the West have done a poor job of integrating death into life and instead treat it as a disconnected thing to be feared. We miss out I think on its benefits. Think about how it is a comforter for those who have been in pain for too long, or those who are simply exhausted.

As a result of how we have positioned it, i.e. as something that deserves fear and revulsion, we often miss out on all life has to offer. I have been in many countries and been able to see how different groups deal with life and death. What is interesting is that those who lead simpler lives rarely fear it and hardly think of it as something disconnected but more as a part of a natural progression of things. Our consciousness picked up this set of clothing and returns it to the Earth.

I myself got convinced of what I wrote about because of discussions I have had with many of these people and noticing similarities in how they spoke and even the terms they used. The common them was connectedness between us and everything else and everything being part of a cycle that continues and becomes hard to understand and appreciate if we only rely on our thinking to understand it. We have so many other tools that can distinguish what a thing is, but they have to be called upon or they simply do not get activated.

For me personally, as a Dad, it is about being present in as many moments as I can so I can enjoy all of the good and learn from the bad and hopefully come to appreciate that all of it somehow fits.

Have a wonderful day and weekend and chat soon. Thanks again.
