The Moon And Me Thinking My Random Thoughts

I took this picture of the moon the night before Christmas. As I write it is the night after Christmas. I noticed that someone even put out their tree in the front yard.

I passed by the malls and the parking lots are full. I heard some say that the sales are really good. I don't know about that, but I rather not go into the malls at this time.

I went to Curry's and bought some things. The girl at the checkout asked me how I was doing, I told her that I came here to see if there were any after Christmas sales. She laughed and said that the prices stayed the same.

That is true, but I really do like going to that store. I bought some almonds, organic cottage cheese, organic chocolate chips, some hot dog buns and a can of asparagus.

I like to use those organic chocolate chips to make hot chocolate. In a cup I like to put in a good hand full of those chocolate chips and I might add a teaspoon of 100% coco powder with a few shakes of Himalayan salt and some coconut oil mixed with hot boiling water. Now that is a good cup of hot chocolate.

My garbage day was on Tuesday, the same day as Christmas. I put out the garbage and the recycling that night. The garbage and the recycling are still at the curb. I guess the garbage people will be one day late on a major holiday.

The same thing will happen on New Year's day. That too is on a Tuesday.

The turkey that mom cooked for Christmas came out really good. Mom tells me she would like to buy a smaller turkey and she will cook it and we, mom, my brother and I would have a new years day meal with it.

I thought that was a good idea. I will look forward to that.

So the new year is coming in and what we write today will be last years writings in less than a week. That is weird to think about it that way.

I am writing in my cold computer room, but I do have a nice warm fire in the living room. I am glad that I have a lot of firewood for that purpose.

I still have to work on the future years kindling and firewood. Yes, I still have shoots coming out the stumps of trees. I will cut those down to smaller pieces of kindling.

There is still wood to split and stack up. In my mind I know which stack I will use on a certain year. You see you want to firewood to season for about 2 years or so.

I noticed my asparagus that I grew earlier this year. I never grew asparagus before, but they look like they are coming along. I read that you don't want to cut the asparagus till about two years have gone by. So by sometime next year I will start to harvest them as they come out.

I plan on starting more asparagus plants next year also. They say you plant them one time and you have years of asparagus to look forward to.

Well, I just mostly spoke my random thoughts on this blog. We do have next year to look forward to. As in all years, there will be some good and some bad.

Hopefully more good than bad.
