A Turkey Sandwich
So here I am with my turkey sandwich. You see I went to my mom’s on New Year’s Day. Mom cooked a turkey for our New Year’s Day meal.
At our meal prayer we thanked our Father for being here and thanked mom for making such a good meal and the blessing over us and the food in Jesus name.
Later on my brother talked how not all of us made it to see this day. He was talking about our Dad that passed away in 2009 and one of our sister’s that passed away in 2005.
So we had the turkey and some yams, dressing and some broccoli cooked with gravy. It was a very good meal for New Year’s Day.
Later on mom gave me some of that turkey. Well, later on at home I got hungry again. I thought about making a turkey sandwich.
You know when I was younger I used to work at McDonald’s. Well, at McDonald’s I would toast the buns before dressing them.
Well I had these big hamburger buns I bought at Curry’s, so I thought I would toast the bun. I didn’t have a bun toaster, but I did have a really big pan, so I put fire under the pan and placed a bun in the pan. It works pretty good as a bun toaster.
Next I just put some mayonnaise on the inner cuts of the bun, then put in the pieces of turkey. My turkey sandwich.
Actually I made more than one turkey sandwich. It tastes good to me.
I really like the sandwiches with the inner cuts of the bun toasted. When I used to work at McDonald’s some more than 40 years ago I had no idea that they toasted the inner cuts of the bun, before I worked there. I just knew it tasted good to me as a young kid.
Funny how in the last week or so, I am going back to toasting the buns, like when I used to work at McDonald’s all those decades ago.
Let’s end with some scripture, As the earthy, such they also that are earthy: and as the heavenly, such they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 1 Corinthians 15:48-49.
