A Fireplace Fire And Writing For Therapy
We had some pretty good rain in the last couple of days. I thought I would light a fire since the air should be clean with all this rain.
I always think that a fire in the fireplace is interesting. I like how the fire is coming out of the hole in that piece of wood. Yes that happens sometimes.
My cat sure did like the fire as she is now sleeping on my chair that is next to the fireplace fire. Well, that is good that she is relaxing, as I can put some time in to blogging a bit.
The other day, people were talking about the big game, the Superbowl. I am not much into sports. I used to watch football with my dad as a way to bond with him years ago. My dad passed away the beginning of 2009.
Wow. Has it been a decade already. If you have been reading my blogs I sometimes like to go way back in time and talk about my dad taking me to the library or to the auto parts store or something like that.
I like those days. Well, when your dad has passed on, all you have is the memories. So maybe me writing here is therapy. Why not write for therapy? This way the writing might help me out as therapeutic and at the same time I am making some Steem.
I know that paying for therapy can be expensive. Yes, I guess I better write as I really don't want to pay for therapy as I am a pretty stingy tight wad.
Of course there is one place one can go if you lost a love one and need some therapy. I took a grievance class at hospice. It might be a good place to cry your eyes out.
I remember going there with a friend and my mom. I went there cause I lost my sister back in 2005. I thought it was time well spent. Also it was free. It is like a group thing.
So I guess there is therapy for free if you look for it. Speaking of therapy. I was talking to a neighbor and he needed a ride to his car.
Before I even got to bring him to the car he told me of all his problems. I just listened. There is a scripture that says, Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. Proverbs 17:28.
So I just listened and listened. Even after I brought him to his car and he drove back he wanted to talk to me some more. I tried not to talk too much and he kept on wanting to hug me and thank me.
It is interesting that some people just wants someone to listen to them. Yes, everyone has problems and if one could talk out his or her problems with a listening friend then that too may be good therapy.
Sometimes I think of these blogs as me talking and you out there are listening. Well, that is the only way I know how to write. I mentioned sometime ago that I read a book called, If You Can Talk, You Can Write by Joel Saltzman.
So my writing is therapeutic to me and hopefully it is interesting to you.
Let's get back to the fire. As I write the fire could use some more wood, but I don't want to go out in the rain and get more. I will do that tomorrow.
So tomorrow I will bring in more wood for a fireplace fire and maybe tomorrow I will write again for therapy and some Steem.
