Its Nice Being Wrong Sometimes

This is an example of where my first instincts were totally wrong and I'm very glad they were. Myself and another photographer had organised a shoot at a pretty run down abandoned location and had 2 models lined for the shoot. It was going to be a grungy casual styled shoot and the models we had organised were a great fit for that look.

Unfortunately one of the models had to cancel so we needed to find a replacement. I had shot with Orla before on another shoot and I knew she was stunning, and a fantastic model. However I'd only seen her work on quite stylish elegant type shoots. I didnt think a more casual style or grungy style would be her thing at all. I also wasnt sure if she would suit that look. My friend really wanted to shoot with her though so against my instincts I arrange for Orla to do the shoot as our replacement.

As you can see from these shots she did an incredible job, and Im very happy to say I was wrong. I guess just because you havent seen somebody work in certain styles doesnt mean they can't. It could just be that they haven't done it, yet.
