The joy of hardwork

Warm greetings!

The joy of every farmer is the harvest period, I love the fact that I support my parents in every area of life, I grow up seeing my parents farming and I joyfully assist them whenever I am opportuned to tap that blessing before I leave for my job.

The aim of going to the farm today is to plug the already removed groundnut, it's groundnut harvest season, and what we do is to use our fingers to plug the matured ones and throw the immatured with the leaves which will serve as manure to the farm.

The harvest

We do not only harvest groundnut, we also harvested maize, nomatter the little quantity of the maize it is better than non, the farm land is not too fertile for maize production but we thank God for the little.

Myself inside the farm working

Both maize and corn were planted in this same piece of land but unfortunately the land is not too fertile for maize rather, you can see how productive the land is for corn production which will be harvested by December or early January next year.

I love to see ripe peppers, at this point, I felt like cooking noodles with only this two peppers. My father has tried his best to plant different types of pepper. The longer peppers will also get ripe soon for usage although it can also be used now for cooking.

One of my favourite soup is okro soup with a little okro leaf. In my part of the world we eat more of corn food and the best soup that goes with corn swallow is okro soup. That is why every farmer in my part of the world plants okro because it is one of our favourite draw soup.

Myself and daddy

I know my daddy to be a farmer right from my very younger age, and at this point, I enjoy my company with him in the farm, he is a very hardworking man and I must appreciate his effort.

Hardworking mother

These grasses are medicinal for pigs, my mother rears pigs so she knows what is best for them, she is a very hardworking woman, those woods are for cooking, firewoods are very important in the kitchen so she taught me never to go home empty handed from the farm as a woman, she is very supportive to dad in the farm, she plays her role as a mother and I have learnt alot from her.

My baby sister

Being too serious sometimes does not help, I know so well that we are busy in the farm but giving our little ones lively moments amidst busy time also helps to ease us from a little tiredness. She actually looked tired but when I called her for us to take a picture I could see that smile and ease in her.

On my way home

At this point, I was so tired, exhausted and femished. There's always an end to everything, we have spent hours in the farm working. Man must rest to have strength for tomorrow's work.

Thank you all for read to this point, I love you all...
