Computational Social Science
The continued growth of the internet and smart technologies has not only enabled the collection of vast amount of data on human behavior but it has also enabled us to process the data with such granularity and precision that we are now able to address important issues on social sciences in entirely new ways.
Whilst computational sciences provide a variety of techniques to collect, analyze and manage this vast array of data, the social sciences afford a variety of understandings and theories that can guide computational analysis. Together these sciences can be used to analyze and explain the huge amount of collected data on social phenomena.
Such collection and analysis of data raises individual privacy issues and the urgent need to protect them.
