New Year Festival at Workplace
As I told you, I managed to wear lungi at the last minute. This post is about the Awrudu festival.
This function was held after not having it for many years. So all of us were excited. So, on that day, all wore traditional wear and came to the premises at the time given.
All happened so quickly as only one half of the day was allocated for the event. More than one game was played at the same time. The games included the typical games such as taking limes on spoons, drawing the eye of an elephant, choosing new year's prince and princess, eating buns and workplace-related games such as eating Kottu Mee.
I and my friends enjoyed the games together. The team which represented my department, Engineering won first place in 'kaba adima' game which took the attraction of many. we cheered them together.
We were given a treat of traditional new year food in between the games. I and my friends took many photographs everywhere. I am there only for six months. I just wanted to make some memories.
The final game was selecting awrudu prince and princess. Many beautiful girls and handsome boys wearing nice dresses came for the game. The ones who deserved the title most got the titles.
Then there was a DJ show to dance and relax our minds. It was dark then and I only waited few minutes in it. I called my boarding uncle and came to the boarding. It was such a pleasant day. Hope I will never forget that day.
