Me in a Lungi

As you know, I am in my industrial training period now. This is about the awrudu festival held in my training place.

I was in my boarding place at that time. I got a call from my friend from the workplace. She told me that all the trainees were going to wear lungis for the function as its theme is traditional wear. This was something new. I haven't had a lungi in my boarding place. I was hoping to wear a frock which is my favourite dress. I told that to my friend. But she told me that she would bring an additional one for me and to bring a top only. I didn't remember that I could have asked my boarding aunty for one.

On the following day, I went there wearing a frock that made them make fun of me. They were not bullying me. They were just surprised because they had only seen me in trousers. I cannot wear anything other than trousers for work. One told me that here is the only Awrudu Kumari we have. That is true because being an 'Awrudu Kumari' or not, I am the only girl in the Whole Engineering Department.

As promised, my friend has bought a lungi for me. But I told her that the frock is enough for me. However, I had to wear it as she wanted and I didn't want to break her heart as she had managed to bring one for me too. Finally, I was in a lungi for the first time without even planning. I was lucky that the top I had matched the colour of the lungi.
